I cant run the alternative FA tool for some reason, it won't launch for me. I get a split second CMD screen and nothing after that. Does it need some kind of runtime or SDK? Running Win7x64 here.
@fredderf
FA creates the DCT files, I deleted them anyway and the unit boots but if I attempt to select/change voice in the menu the unit hangs, leading to a reboot.
@pe1agp, yes it's the normal voices pack. Do I have to remove the mata.txt then and leave the Updated Meta.txt instead? I still don't understand the relevance they play.

Extracted, placed the contents to %temp% and placed the packed executable to TT root directory, launch it as Admin, and nothing still. Are there any logs I can provide maybe?
EDIT: Please ignore. I never created the A_F_Activate folder in the temp folder. My bad Gents, apologies.

How many of use realized that there are an unlimited number of third party voices but only a limited number of file names that the TomTom will recognize ? So if a premium voice has the same file name as non premium voice Confucius reigns supreme !

@TopmTom13E
Is there a cheat sheet to know exactly which files names correspond to premium/standard voices, and also the number limit of voices allowed by TT system?
EDIT: Never mind me guys, I figured it out.
For the next noob reading this, all you need to know is that the each (Non TTS) voice file dataXX.chk must have an additional and matching dataXX.tlv and dataXX.vif to go along with it.
Voice packs are not supplied with those two additional files so you must obtain/download them form TomTom HOME Utility.
If TT Home doesn't find a matching .tlv and .vif file, the desired dataXX.chk voice file won't work. Also make sure there are no dataXX.chk.dct files in the voice folder of your TT device.
Now I have all the desired voices working. So simple once you know what to pay attention to.

For me the bottom line is to wait until you have a problem and follow fredderf's instructions above. Simples.
I know of no cheat sheet. The closest I'm aware of is to look in the "Integrated_meta.txt" or "Updated_meta.txt" that come with FastActivate.
They list all known meta codes for premium cameras.
I's some years since I've checked out the data** numbers.
Some Navcores only go up to 99, but I believe some go up to 140.
125 worked for me a some years ago but then it didn't (Change of Navcore ?)
Haven't checked recently.
I could only get up to 116 to work and 120 and above didn't.
117 - 119 appeared to be for the Asian Market.
