I am looking for an Europe map.....
Kind regards PietjePuck
*** Edit***
Thanks to everyone for their help!!
Finally I figure it out... As I found out I have a NAV2 device. In the tutorial Nav3 to Nav2 conversion i found the ultimate Guide.
Downloaded Western Europe 2 NAV3 map and converted it to Nav2, Copied to device and activated with TTActivator 1.20.
Restarted device and it works again!!
Simple as that.
Only i whished that someone had told me, would hav saved me a lot of hours frustration at the end.
But for now i am happy, also with this forum. I still have a Renault R-Link to be updated and a Nissan Juke......
Wish me luck!!

It will depend on which Europe map will fit on it, is there an SD slot available?

1. Delete the second line of the post and do not publish the unique ID you provided in the second line. You can give them to someone via PM if you can't figure it out yourself based on the answers provided.
2. You have a device with 4GB memory and no SD card slot. You can't fit all of Europe, but you can fit 3/4 of Europe. You can select the area yourself using, for example, the "Coverages..." Poteo_Roke file.
3. since you provided data from the system, I understand that the problem concerns only the map. However, the system itself works properly. The Navcore you provided is the latest, so you do not need to update it.
4. You did not write whether patched maps were already installed on this device or only the original one. If the patched map is being installed for the first time, you must first patch the system. I will probably be criticized, but I do it the same way I did 15 years ago, with the yDGPatch program available on the Internet. You install it on your computer, run it, point to the "ttsystem" file and click "GO". Some versions of navkore also have a PNDNavigator file, but you don't have it.
In a moment I will write how to patch a map in a way that will also be criticized

5. patching the map:
You download the "tt8_kaygen2.exe" program from the Internet.
You create a new directory on disk. Preferably on the C: drive. Preferably a directory with a short name, e.g. "x".
to this directory you copy the directory with the selected map, the file with the metacode for this map (published by Peter) and the tt8 program.
You open a DOS window (cmd). In this window you enter the directory you created (as it was done 30 years ag cd.. cd.. cd.. cd x ). Once you have entered the correct directory, drag the mouse from the directory you created to the DOS window in the following order:
- tt8 program
-put a space
-directory with the downloaded map
-put a space
- enter the number you provided in the second line of your post
- click enter
If you did everything correctly, you will receive an OK response. And you can copy the map directory to the navigation root. If it didn't work out OK, you made a mistake somewhere or you don't have meta...
You can do all this more easily with newer tools...
I described the more difficult method because you didn't want to use "search"
conclusions after a while after publication (like Microsoft)
Only nav2 and nav3 maps are available for your device. Nav4 maps will not work. If you download nav3, you can remove unnecessary files from it (cspeech, arp, cphoneme), which will significantly reduce the size of the map... but you won't be able to fit all of Europe.Last edited by rarokor; 3rd May 2024 at 04:08 PM.

Post #4 is far to compilcated. Just use as Biggerdave proposed in post #5
You can best choose map "Europe_zone_6" or "Europe_zone_7" or "Europe_zone_3" or "Europe_zone_4"
Also possible is "Western_Europe".
All from nav3
With you can patch your navcore, download the correct map and activate the map. All in one.
If the meta.txt file from TTActivator is not up to date, you can use the one from
Questions, ask me by PM or in this thread.

More help needed on TomTom classic XXL without a map
The device has no sd card.
I have tried to update the device, but I get an error at the end of the download to the device. The sourcefile (map) should be corrupt. But when i download the map to my computer there is no problem.
When i use TTactivator 1.20 there is a tab missing with the tittle "NAV 3 Tools" The screenshots in the help is from version 1.14....
So i am confused.
When i list the device i see the original map "Western Europe" with 2 file in it, temp.tlv and Western_Europe-858.meta.dct.
Also there is a new map "Western_Europe_1_1125_12198_tmp_ " In this map there are a number of files whitch i think are not unpackt.
I would like to delete this map as i think that these files have to be removed before a new installation coud be possible, but my file manager gives the message "File not found".
What can be done, Can you help me? I begin to get desperate.
I have been very busy last weeks, so please forgive me for a late responce...
Kind regards, PietjePuk025
