Does anyone know precisely how the meta code algorithm works?
Hi there,
I have been looking to understand how the meta code algorithm work.
Since it is mentionned it is using BLOWFISH encryption, I guess the meta data there is used but HOW?
Is it to decrypt the MAP? or something like that?
or just a KEY to use the map?
Any info?

I'm no tech expert but it's all to do with the map folder data (incl yourmapname.pna), not the navcore. To get a pirate map to work you "only" need a copy of the map folder, a meta code (ideally integrated in a tool like fastActivate) and a copy of the devices ttgo.bif all running a suitable navcore/application

what is the difference betweeen a map without meta and a map you buy from TT? (any diffferent files? extra files)
does the map you buy from TT comes with extra files?
or does it require a TT software to activate it (such as TomTom Home)?
Thanks.

If you BUY the map (which has to be linked to one specific device/Serial) it will be downloaded/installed INCLUDING the req'd yourmap.meta.dct (which otherwise needs to be generated by FastActivate etc for another devise IF there's a meta available

There is a way to generate a meta code for a map, but you would need a humungous file and time and a tera mega super computer with the capability or holding a humungous file of all the possible codes. Only one code would work for one map and there are 16x16x16x16x16x16x16x16x16x16x16x16x16x16x16x16 possibilities of which only one is right. You have better odds winning the lottery. And that only requires a lot fewer balls. So the answer is yes you can to the question, but is it practical? Definitely NO.
That is just one map. There are many to do. You could use randomisation, but save already tried codes that failed. May work on the next map. Could create a hugh meta file and run fast activate against all the map.meta files and hopefully one might create a .dct file.
The meta file is going to have to be hugh, though you could be lucky. I was once with Africa v955 but it was a pure fluke. But not with any others. I have given up trying. It is not worth the hassle. For a start it takes quite some time just making the codes anyway. Definitely need a good text editor like notepad ++ and use macros. Not worth the effort
You already know it cannot be some 7000 plus codes it cannot be LOL
Have much better chance of cracking the Enigma codes, even though that was very difficult, but in comparison a lot easier
You have a one in one chance of 18446744073709551616 possible getting it correct. Each possibility is one line
That amounts to a file that is VERY LARGE (Not viable even)One day, someone might make things work perfectly before release. Sadly not in my or your lifetime. At least by finding problems and sorting them, we are still alive.

....or just buy the bloody map (or at least help by sponsoring it/them)
Remember these come out every 3 months so with your supercomputer the size of the White House, Kremlin & GCHQ combined you may get lucky with one code out of 250+ maps every quarter!

I would take up more than that Dave. It you were to have a file of say 4GB size of just meta codes, you would still need rather a fucking lot, and a hell of a lot of places to store them in. Long before you could even get around to testing them LOL. If one person in the world had one, it would still not be enough

Just for info purposes only I have been running a program to get blowfish code for Israel
and it is still running, used so far over 103 GB of data and not got it. The point is, it is not worth the effort even trying to bother trying. Buy the damn map LOL. It is cheaper than my time LOL. I bet by tomorrow, it will, or would have used much more space and time. Really, do not bother to even try, it is not worth it32 4D 72 29 8C 1B 24 18 B7 1D EA DC 55 0B 88 CF Israel-101436.meta ; Israel 1005_8762 One day, someone might make things work perfectly before release.
