Sorry, my post was moved to this thread so I didn't get notification. Now I've actually had 2 of these Ones, and one (no pun intended) died. That dead one had a noticable brighter screen though, so I took the best parts and put them together. So actually I'm not sure if the serial on my case is the 'real' one, but I'm pretty sure both were TomTom One IQ routes. Serial starts with PS, TomTom site states 'Your device is a TomTom ONE IQ Routes with 2GB memory and it updates through TomTom HOME'. Not sure what picture you'd like to see. I put in a 8GB card as you can see:
And it's running the 1010 Europe map, which is shy over 2GB in size, but that never would've fit on the internal memory. However, maybe the confusion is I called it V5, which it might not be
By the way, it turns out it has bootloader 5.5136, I was damn sure it was 5.5128. My memory is starting to fail me already... oh well...
About the XL board:
I had to make a picture with my cellphone, my good cam has a flat battery at the moment. This is the board WR6_V1.4. I hope the pics are clear enough, the contacts / traces are the same as on board V1.3. Still not working though.

Update: Today I removed the internal memory chip of the XL mentioned in the previous post. After removing the internal memory, the SD card is recognized perfectly fine. Seems it's unable to handle two memory chips at the same time. I used these solder points on my 1.4 board and as said after removing internal memory chip, it works fine!

Well done. Normally these pre x20's like your XL (that has internal memory AND an SD card slot) could only ever run off either the SD card (if inserted prior to boot-up) OR internal memory if no card is present and you never could run them both together as you can on the newer units where you could add just new map (folders) to an SD card then "Manage Maps/Switch Maps"

Can anyone tell me if the pictures in post #5 or post #21 also are correct for a TT XXL Classic serie TTS (serial number GQ)? If yes, which one is correct?
Or has someone a manual, pictures and a scheme for this device
I like to try to give it more memory than the internal 2 GB

Tomtom XL
I have a classic XL, I intend to remove the existing memory and wire in an SD card using the excellent photo diagram in Rataplan626 's Dec 2018 post. Rataplan seems to be using an 8GB card, has anyone tried anything larger? I have a few 16GB hanging about but nothing smaller, I'm itching to give it a go but dont want to do the job twice.
Bill.

16GB will be fine but 32's pushing your luck!

Update- All done and working fine, just a few hiccups mainly due to the SMD not wanting to fall off using my sledgehammer tactics (a pyro pen and a good shake!). While its apart I would like to fix it so it will power on with the ignition switch rather than needing a button press. If this has been done before any advice or links would be appreciated, if not I have a few ideas that I'll try.
Bill.

Anybody any ideas for the Rider 2013? It only has 4 GB internal memory, which is a bit small by now.
What's this area that looks like a SIM or SD card with two rows of 6 solder points?
Area with the SoC cover removed:
