Thanks! I actually quite like having these SCDB POI's. I prefer to leave my TomTom in 2D mode, which generally gives a wider view of whats around you. Whilst I still use TomToms speedcams to trigger an audible alert of speed cameras on my route, it's interesting to see what other traffic cams are around me using the SCDB POI's.
The best part is it shows different icons so you have another visual reminder of what the speed limit is on each camera as well as knowing if its a redlight camera only... or a redlight/speed camera or just a speed camera.
I even made up some new icons so the whole thing looks more slick. I'd be happy to share the .BMP files if anyone is interested... let me know.
The catch, and its a big one. To have all those different icons, you end up running 38 new POI's. Whatever processor/ram my TomTom is using just cant cope very well with more than a few POI's. So when using SCDB things look very jerky. I think the screen might refresh once ever 2 seconds :P
I found a website that could merge .ov2 files - so that is an option. But you would lose the icons specifically showing you the difference between a 50km/h Red Light camera and a 70km/h Speed Camera for example.
Unless there is a way to make a single OV2 file that can reference multiple .BMPs ?? Maybe this is possible, as when I turn on the 'Petrol Station' POI it show a different icon depending if its a Caltex or BP etc. Anyone know if this is possible?
EDIT: I did find this:
POI OPTIMIZER - Poi Optimizer insert skipper record into TomTom Ov2 file
Apparently can help improve POI performance on TomTom Devices... I will test.
Not sure if the fact that the files contain the whole 'world' would be affecting performance or not also? Would it be beneficial to have OV2 files that contain only data for your needed region?
EDIT 2:
I was able to use this editor to trim down the .ov2 files to only include my region. Yet to go for a drive and see if it makes any difference in performance :P

Just thought I'd report back with performance results. Not sure which one made more difference, but after running POI OPTIMIZER on all SCDB ov2 files and then editing with POI Editor to remove all data outside of the latitude/longitude range of my region - SCDB Speedcams now runs very well on my system. No noticeable increase in jerkiness. Screen refresh time seems about the same if I have SCDB POI's on or off.
Some of the ov2 files had no data from my region in them at all, in which case I could delete them all together.
Look forward to seeing more future updates from SCDB!

It's just my personal preference, I don't have to think about which cameras go with which map.
I like to update with just a single copy of the 53 ov2 files to each device.
Usually I have the room to have a number of maps installed for countries / continents I do visit , might visit, would like to visit or just interested in.
Sometimes it's just to help other members.

Hello all ,
I'am new here, so sorry for 'stupid' questions, but....
Does anyone have new(er) data of the SCBD database ( 'Split into all categories', NL fixed and mobile and in Ov2 format )? I'm struggling to find any new data in Ov2 format
Ps. how to download "Benelux" fixed data in previous log? The 'Mobile Speedscams' was easy to download, but how to download then fixed one's. What do I click at 'http://www.jheberg.net/....'?
Thanks in advance

Tried many sites and NitroFlare worked!
Perhapes a stupid question : is there a newer version than 28-12-2016?

Pasi it you use a live version of tomtom, it is updated along with traffic every 2 mins. the fixed ones are updated generally on tues and thurs, but the mobile ones are pretty much all the time really. If not live, then only tues and thurs, oh and by the way, it affects all maps, not just one you are running at the time
One day, someone might make things work perfectly before release. Sadly not in my or your lifetime. At least by finding problems and sorting them, we are still alive.

@Maverick: I have not a TT with live support. My 'Start 25' is a basic type, but with live time maps. So the maps are for free ( as long TT thinks the live time of a Start-25 is ).
@Nyky: Thanks for the update!
Ps1. Strangely the Benelux-SCDB misses ( at least ) 1 fixed cam. I know, because it's in my neighborhood.
Ps2. Or can I use a other database for speedscams to 'feed' my TT?
