Just a thought.
If some poor old person bought a satnav last year (or was given one as a gift) and does not own a computer, travels in France with the speedcams still active (because he can not remove them) will they be prosecuted for having speed cams or for not having the means to remove them?
Very interesting.
Also I hear they (the French) are requiring ALL motorists to have 2 (yes 2) breathalisers held within the car at all times and full visability jackets for everyone (that could be 5 or more).
Sounds like the French do not want anyone driving in their country!

No mercy. They need the money. That's the most important for them. One way or the other the will earn money. If everybody drive within the speedlimit that is to bad. More financial crisis !!

I wonder if anyone here has actually bothered to remove their French speedcams. TomTom have hedged their bets by replacing their official speedcams with 'Danger Zones'. There are various techniques for quick removal of them from your device should the need ever arise AND does anyone seriously believe that they will get stopped, virtually 'strip searched' in order for the Speedcams to be discovered and 'punished'.
And, yet another suggestion: why not change the speedcam bmps to a generic MacDonalds sign or similar? Can that be done?
AND finally, .... can anyone with a UK registered vehicle tell me if a flash from a FIXED French camera has ever resulted in a fixed penalty notice landing on the mat? I didn't think so .....
