Navcore 9501 RIDER V5, Navcore 9501 CAR & RIDER and Navcore 9501 CAR & RIDER JUKEBOX by MaSp.
Hello everyone, I have created three navcore for TomTom Nav1 and Nav2 devices, one for motorcycle and another two valid for motorcycle and car.
WHAT'S NEW IN THIS VERSION CAR & RIDER JUKEBOX
For this new version I have added a car emulation that allows you to listen to music and audio books through the device's speaker and through the motorcycle's intercom (an option that Rider devices had stopped offering but that you can now enjoy again).
Remember that with this navcore you have 2 gps in one (car and motorcycle) and that to use both on the motorcycle you have to link the intercom in each of the emulations (only the first time).
Note: In the download link there are 3 navcore, to know which one is appropriate for your device you have to access the black screen of the gps, keeping the power button pressed until all the data appears, in the line "GPS type" you will see GL1, GL2 or SIRF3. Knowing which gps chip your navigator uses and the size of the screen (3.5, 4.3 or 5 inches), you download and install the specific navcore. If your device has the SIRF3 gps chip I recommend updating its firmware, more information in the forum.
The voices are in Spanish but with TomTom Home you can install the ones you need.
These navcores have a lot of new car symbols and map colors (You enter the menu --- Change map colors --- Advanced --- User combination ... And here you see the whole range of new colors), I recommend looking at all of them.
IMPORTANT, update Quickgpsfix files with TTActivator or TomTom Home!
With these navcore and TTActivator you will have your gps updated.
I hope you like it.
Note: in navcore 9501 CAR & RIDER and navcore 9501 CAR & RIDER JUKEBOX, to change from car to motorcycle emulation you have to follow these steps:
Enter the menu --- right arrow --- you give it until you reach menu number 4 (in the emulation car) and menu number 7 (in the emulation Rider), there you will find an icon called Skin Chooser, when you press it it allows you to change the emulation (37/24 for cars, 71 for motorcycles), double click on the center of the screen and then it will restart with the emulation selected.
How to link the gps with the motorcycle intercom to listen to music and audio books? (Car emulation in navcore 9501 CAR & RIDER JUKEBOX)
1-Select the car emulation (number 24).
2-In the gps menu: Change preferences --- Bluetooth preferences --- Activate Bluetooth --- Done. (If the gps does not have bluetooth, this option cannot be used)
3-In the gps menu: Change preferences --- Speaker preferences --- Play instructions through this speaker --- Hi-Fi Bluetooth device --- Done --- Play music through this speaker --- Hi-Fi device Fi Bluetooth --- Done and then it tells you to use (link) a bluetooth device, which will be the intercom of the motorcycle.
4-Once linked, you will be able to use the gps and listen to music and audio books through the intercom of the motorcycle (in addition to the route instructions) by entering the menu --- right arrow --- Music and multimedia --- TomTom Jukebox.
5-You have to copy your music into the mp3 folder and the audio books into the audiobooks folder, which you will find in the navcore.

I add this BMW logos pack with 17 start images. The way to use it is like this:
1-Download and unzip the pack.
2-Copy all the content inside the photos folder of the gps.
3-Go to the gps startup preferences option and choose the initial image you want.
Note: If you want the startup image to be the same when turning off the gps (with the BMW logos it looks great), you have to change the name of the image file antitheft / suspend and antitheftw / suspendw to antitheft1 / suspend1 and antitheftw1 / suspendw1, in this way you cancel its function and do not lose it in case you want to use it again in the future.

Nice to keep things alive. Are these WNRO proof?

With these navcore the WNRO problem no longer exists, select and install the appropriate one according to the gps chip and the size of the screen of your device.

Tried it on my Go930. It works as documented. Getting a GPS fix surprisingly fast. Love the possibility to switch between modes as I use it on my bike. Mostly in Rider mode, but also in native mode using my oldskool RDS/TMC antenna. Allthough x50 emulation works fine, I changed the reskin.txt to match my device and experienced no problems with that. Thanks for keeping my 12 year old Go going.

Is there a guide somewhere on how to change the navcore? I've hunted around but cannot find one.
Thanks

I've been using it ever since.
Only the Rider sometimes can't keep up with me on roads with lots of curves and turns, the processor isn't fast enough, but I still get where I want to be and I've been using the Rider since October 2009 as a parting gift on my retirement.
It is of course not only due to the processor, driving a little slower could also be the solution, but certainly within built-up areas I stick to the speed limit, nevertheless I have to pay attention, do I have to turn left or right here or another intersection back? .

My apologies if this is stupid question. I'm currently running NC9501a from on my Rider v2. What are the differences/improvements over one I'm running and "the navcore 9501 RIDER V5" release here?
As a side note, is there are way to change how speed limit looks on Rider 5 skin? Currently it is showing "49/50" which is quite hard to read while riding especially if it's sunny. Best probably would be if it just shows speed limit and no current speed, but turns red if current speed is more than speed limit. Thank you!
