thats plan B
V2 devices are history , i want to look forward , V3 is the future
my 710 is beginning to show signs of age , but its still usable for a good while
as long as it works , it works , no need for a similar device

I think your plan A, cracking a v3 (navcore 10/11) device just ain't going to happen any time soon (if EVER). Remember the gurus have been trying since Sep-10 with no luck!
As you say, if you're happy with your x10 then just stick with it and parts (batteries/digitisers/speakers etc) are still readily avaliable.

I salute your optimism but as the original TTuser has moved on to other things, only downunder is still trying to crack these (with very little success) so "don't hold your breath"
Oh, I nearly forgot that prat farq... underground who said he'd cracked it but obviously has not!

TTuser could not solve either
this is a driver-issue , not a Linux-issue or tomtom's
we need someone with knowledge of .exe and .dll
than after that is done ,then comes the Linux and tomtom bits
