My colleague gave me their TomTom 520 Go to have a look at for them. The device said it was up to date (maps were from 2016) so they plugged it into their PC and ran MyDrive Connect which said there were update (firmware, maps, etc). Following the instructions, the TomTom resets itself every 10 seconds now and is stuck in a loop.

I’ve tried doing a ‘hard reset’ holding onto the power button and getting the black screen with white text, 3 pushes of the power button and then the icon telling you to plug it into the PC appears. Have done that, MyDrive Connect starts automatically when plugged in the PC and says it is restoring the device. The device boots and again just resets itself after 10 seconds over and over again until the battery dies. Any ideas?

The device has never been patched/hacked.
