Dead Tomtom Go 600
During the restoration of a backup file of a Tomtom Go 600 the hard drive crapped out on me. It's totally dead and the Tomtom device just boots to a black screen and it detected as two unformatted USB drives by windows.
Is this device totally gone or can it be salvaged even though I don't have a backup file.
I can't get into recovery mode, I don't here the drums and when I press the power button nothing happens at all.
Please advise me on how to repair this if it's possible.INSAAN Reviewed by INSAAN on . Dead Tomtom Go 600 During the restoration of a backup file of a Tomtom Go 600 the hard drive crapped out on me. *UPDATE*
Nav4tool now sees two Tomtom Go usb devices and can't do anything. The service update tool fails altogether as I can't get into recovery mode.
I reckon if I can get Nav4tool to see this as a single device then I might be able to make an emergency recovery SDcard. Am I on the right track?

It says that it restores a backup copy, below it says that it does not have a backup copy of this device, what copy were you trying to restore?
from another device?
If you have restored a copy of another device,
I understand that your device is dead without the possibility of recovery.
It has been commented many times that each device has unique, exclusive files. When restoring a copy of another device, these exclusive files are deleted.

If you want to recover that device, your backup copy is essential or at least the fdt partition that is smaller than the entire copy, try with a data recovery program to find that copy of the damaged disk on your computer.
