Start60/6 unit, seeking help to revive it
Hello TT guys
Although I'm quite familiar with the Garmin products, I'm definitely a novice with the TomTom ones.
I'm writing here to seek some help for a Start60/6 (model no.4FC64 4FD6.001.00), as written on the microscopic sticker on the back of the unit.
It was bought as-is, second hand, by a friend, who then asked me if I could fix it; no backups or other data is available for this unit.
The unit boots up to the logo and the drumroll, then it stops and nothing else happens.
The Win PC I use does not "sense" the unit when I plug it in without an SD card in it, it just charges it.
I've tried reading lots of threads on this forum and, withouth knowing any better, I dowloaded both "MSTMS Nav4 - Navcore20 v1.2" and "MSTMS Nav4 - Navcore21 v1.1" and created the two different "magic SD", but in both cases the unit boots and then is stuck on the logo after the drumroll.
In both cases, once the microSD is in the unit, if I connect the TT to the PC via USB, the PC sees the SD, although it can't read it and asks me to format it (obviously I don't)
Any suggestion on what to do to revive this jumbo screened unit?
Thanks in advance

Might actually be easier to try using the SEARCH facility in this NAV4 sub-section for "Start 60" although maybe you'll need to do some deep trawling once there?

I've actually done it, and I tried with the "magicSD", to no results. Any hint to advance from where I'm stuck at?
Thanks

As per my initial message:
