It does sound more like TT's mapping is wrong/out-of-date. They rely on "report map errors" & "Mapshare" from owners BUT then do not implement these until they are checked and often takes 3-6 months after the report is rec'd before you see these changes
As an example of TT's response to this common question:-

hello Simba
How to safely return to navcore 21.100.0001.311 in tomtom 610
you have an older navcore, I notice that the tomotm works more smoothly on it, it doesn't clip as it does from 21.200 ...

the MSTMS team recommends a patch for navcore
Only use it with Navcore 21.100.0001.311!
and with this nav4 devices work without any problems
these are my comments

under you have download 21.1
if MSTMS recommends it better to follow your advice.
when installs check if it has improved its operation, if with 21.1 it is still malfunction, we would think that it is MDC who "kills" device, in that case it would be a complete copy of version prior to 21.2.

Simba prepares him for a friend 610
and there is actually something wrong
whether there are already confirmed cases of damage to devices by MDC
have they developed the MSTMS team patch killer?

I think he's asking do you think TomTom have somehow created a tweak in their latest navcore which kills the MSTMS patch?
As I've said before, I personally don't think TomTom have developed a killer tweak as they've never managed to stop us cracking NAV2's or NAV3's or us getting ALL their maps from their own servers.
