TomTom NAV4 Map installtion problem
Tomom Activator 1.6 see my NAV4 Device and I can download Meta & Maps onto it but I'm unable to patch the NAVCORE and the Map does not work. If I then connect to TomTom MyConnet the Map will dispear. I've also tried the upload tool following the instruction to input the map into the uploader which then on selection a dialogue box appears says triggering device but nothing happened. What am I doing wrong?
A new video along the lines produced for NAV3 would be useful.anothergo Reviewed by anothergo on . Is it Nav3 or Nav4, because they are totally different methods?

I followed the guide of the 20th March 2021 titled "How to download and install NAV4 Maps" which uses TTActivator 1.5.
Following this guide, I see my device and I can download maps & meta and also load the Map onto my Device but they fail to open. I can see the Maps but they just dont load.
When I connect to TomTom MyDrive Connect the Maps are seen but listed as corrupted and if I install mulitple Maps then most are often deleted leaving just one remaining. The uploader tool can also trigger Maps being loaded on my Device. I think I'm close to success but dont know. The patch tool of the NAVCOR within the TTActivator is greyed out.

anothergo between the two navs, there is a huge difference, follow the guide on this site to be able to mulch the nav4, also because you have to install the map with the sd inserted

Thank you for your response which is gratefully appreciated. I confused as there there are 2 different methods on this site for NAV4 Devices. One uses TTActivator "Orni"and the other "MSTMS". Both appear to be dated 20th March 2021. Please could you tell me "mijkele" which method your comments relate too.

Anothergo, you didn't answer my question. There are no two methods !!! If you are sure that your device is Nav4, then you should use 'Nav4Free.bat' for patching device, 'TTActivator' for downloading map and 'TTInstall.Mini-20200829.exe' for installing the map in your device.

Thank you to both mijkele & LaMedia for your help. As you can tell I'm confused, there are 2 different methods on this site. I think "mikele" comments may relate to the "MSTMS" method and "LaMedia" relate to the method by "Orni" is that correct? It doesnt help that the both appear to have the same date. My Device is a Go 40 which is a NAV4 Device.
The method I have been trying is that commented by "LaMedia" and uses TTActivator 1.6 which unlike that displayed in the guide can see my Device. The step I have missed is using 'Nav4Free.bat' which I didnt think I needed to use as I can load Maps directly using the activator and/or the upload method.
I found the explantion around using BAT files very confusing. TTActivator 1.6 sees my Device and allows me to load Maps directly without the need of a microSD card as does TTIstall.mini. So BAT files are not necessary?
Its also not clear how the meta is loaded or/if the NAVCOR patching takes places?
My TomTom GO 40 has had all the Maps files deleted before I got it and is unable to load any Map or formate an SD card.
A YouTude Video of both methods would help a lot.Last edited by anothergo; 27th December 2021 at 09:39 PM.

TTActivator is a tool designed for devices with Nav3. On Nav4 devices, TTActivator can only be used to download maps to the computer (packaged, in *.ttpkg format). In the device (whether it is internal storage or SD card) upload the map using TTIstall.mini. First of all, the device must be patched with Nav4Free.bat. TTActivator IS NOT FOR NAV4 !!!
