nav4 prob
i am confused about the order of doing the hack for nav4
i firstly run r-link explorer ,format build sd card ,copy files into ext directory .no prob
put tomtom into recovery mode
i then run nav4 free create magic sdcard
i dont backup, already got full backup
then enable adb and root
then copy package and upload meta to device ,no problem so far
after restarting back to normal in preparation for uploading maps through upload
that fails because tomtom says cannot format sd card to use for maps. use pc instead
but if i format it on pc i lose information put on by earlier programs .
tomtom sees sd card then when trying to format ,it says cannot find sdcard
read so many different posts im getting bewildered .
everything is working up to tomtom formatting sdcard prior to maps going on

You don't need rlink explorer.
The sd cards in nav4 give less trouble if you format them from the device "format for maps".
You must install the maps with the utility "TTInstall.Mini-20200829.exe "
You can install them in the internal memory or on the card with the switch (-sd).
There is an upload folder to carry out these actions with the maps.

that was much easier ,not using r-link ,baffled why it was shown as a way to build sd card, copy files onto etc .when it was not needed
nav4free from now on, although i seem to spend more time fighting windows defender ,because all the false positives
that's after temporally stopping it .got there in the end .thanks

Use a directory for your unsigned programs excluded from protections.
