TomTom Start 60 [NAV4] - Factory settings - problem
After resetting the device to factory settings, the NAV4 unlock does not work. The image freezes on the NAV4 patch logo.
No one on the forum stated whether the device can be returned to the factory settings after inserting the NAV4 patch?mersiha76 Reviewed by mersiha76 on . after factory reset from tomtom menu, the patch disappears, if not, it is strange.
You can try to reset, from black screen 3 quick presses on the boot button and then MyDrive connect must reset it, the normal thing to do is to put navcore 19 later, try if necessary several times until it offers to install navcore 20.
regards

Ok, I restored the backup again and everything is fine. So, it is important to state that the device MUST NOT return to the factory settings after inserting the patch.

maybe your problem is single
because I have returned several tomtoms with patches and have never had any problems.
it may be that the patch did not take you well or something like that ... it's hard to say ... but the important thing is that now everything is fine

I think there is a difference between going back to factory settings and performing a drive recovery with MDC.
Maybe we are mixing the phases with each other?
In my case, I have had no problem doing a recovery with a unit in which the patch was installed, I have never made a return to the factory state.
However, I think it is safer to uninstall the patch first, if we are going to do a recovery with MDC.

sure ...if you remove patch before doing a MDC or a reset, it is safer and without any risk, you are right

very important to keep in mind; the patch you install must be the same version of the installed navcore, for example if you have navcore 20 the patch must be 20,,,, another example if you have patch and navcore 20 and do a MDC restore it is possible that you install a version above, then as @spoon1 indicates above it is better to uninstall patch before restoring
