extended internal memory
Has anyone ever tried to replace eMMC on nav3 devices? For example from 4GB to 8GB.
The memory looks the same as in older TT XL and XXL devices. In them you can easily do it.
Technically, I think it is possible, but can I program all memory from scratch? Will nav 3 start with empty memory?magart Reviewed by magart on . extended internal memory Has anyone ever tried to replace eMMC on nav3 devices? For example from 4GB to 8GB. Is it really worth it if you have an SD card slot anyway?

There are devices that do not have an SD card slot. Only 4gb of built-in memory.

to reprogram the new eMMC you would need easy-jtag, the first thing to do a copy of your current 4GB eMMC, once you changed a new eMMC it is possible that it still only recognized 4 GB, so with easy-jtag it is to create a new partition table so that it recognizes the new size of eMMC, once you have written the copy of your old eMMC, the question is whether it recognizes the boot offset, this is theory I have not done it, as an example I have tried to write a copy of eMMC 2GB in 4GB eMMC and has not worked, does not recognize boot offset. all copy, rewrite, etc ... tested with easy-jtag. regards

In old tomtom (XL) it was enough to upload navcore via usb after replacement.
Maybe there is some recovery type in the nav3 device ...?
