TomTom One v2 latest maps?
Hi all,
Recently found my old TomTom One V2 in the bottoms of a drawer and decided I’ll leave it in my car glove box as a spare but want to see how I can update it. Appreciate it’s ancient so the latest update available for it will probably be out of date but hopefully newer than what I have at least!
One on the info screen it says:
App 6.560 (7914/061211)
Map: United Kingdom and ROI v660.1199
Any help much appreciated!Pikkle88 Reviewed by Pikkle88 on . TomTom One v2 latest maps? All sorted now. Updated the Navcore to 7.9X but couldn't activate UK & ROI 1130_12XXX using Fast Activate but using TTActivator I managed to get 1110_XXXX maps up and running which is newer than what I started with so happy with that! Also speed camera notifications too.

Well done. You can actually use the very latest NAV2 UK map 1130_12304 using a navcore >9.4. Just need a bit more reading/searching. Good luck

Thanks for that. I'll have a further dig through and see how I can update the Navcore to 9.4 as the TomTom app only updated to 7.9X

Not sure where I’m going wrong here but this is what I am doing:
1). Copy over contents of original TomTom SD card onto a new compatible SD card.
2). Using TT home I run any updates and then delete the original UK & ROI map on the SD card.
3). Download and extract 9.541.2-2042-CAB-navcore-LE.cab to the root of the SD card and replace any files named the same.
4). Running TTActivator I use:
Map Kind/Generation: nav3
Map Version: 1130
Map Country/Region: UK & ROI
Download to device
TTActivator pops up it is able to activate UK & ROI v1130.12313 (nav3)
5). Once the map has downloaded I activate the map using TTActivator and also add Safety Cam. I then refresh and confirm that map and safety cameras are activated in TTActivator before quitting.
6). Then use FastActivate and option 2 (Patch Maps, Voices, Speedcams…)
7). Then I get the following:
Complete Maps: OK
Safety Cameras: OK
8). I then select option 3 (Patch Navcore)
Once that is done, I insert the SD card back into the device. TomTom loads up and it states Version 9.541 on the status summary screen but tapping anywhere else on the screen (apart from the status bar at the bottom of the screen) to be able to enter navigation details etc and the device freezes then resets itself
Not sure where I’m going wrong here. Any clues?Last edited by Pikkle88; 4th August 2024 at 03:10 PM.

Special for the elder equipment,
7 simple steps to update your device with the latest map
To update your device with the latest map, follow these simple steps:
1) VERY IMPORTANT: Connect your device to your computer via USB. Using Windows Explorer, open your TomTom drive and backup the complete contents of your TomTom.
2) Check your navcore version. You can do this either on the device menu under Version Info, or you can check the navcore version in TomTom Home when the device is connected to your computer, or by opening the ttgo.bif file with notepad.
Try to find Navcore 9.510, which work on most devices, it's always possible to install another
3) Check which map is compatible with your navcore using the latest compatibility, found on most forums
4) Get the map which fits you best and which also fits on your device
Delete the old map folder
5) Extract the map using WinRaR or similar.
Copy across the new map folder into the root of the device.
Make sure when you open the map folder it only contains the map files, not another folder within a folder.
6) Download the latest version of FastActivate from the FastActivate thread:
Extract the file and copy across FastActivate.exe to the TomTom drive (the root of the device).
7) Run FastActivate.exe from the TomTom drive, clicking on the first 3 options in order, waiting for each to complete:
Update meta, patch maps, patch navcore.
Mind you when patching with Fastactivate use option#1 first before every patch
There is some kind of a strange bug in Fastactivate which force you to use option #1, anyway it's my experience
Navcore 9.541 will slowdown your TomTom, I have better experiences with 9.510
When you'er unable to patch your old equipment send me your ttgo.bif file and I'll try the patch for you, the only thing you need than is the *.dct fle
I must have somewhere an old TomTom One, just for in case the most worse happen.
Good luck

Amazing!! Thanks for this. Running Navcore 9.501. I just went for UK & ROI map 1130_12304. For some reason it only had Spanish voices but I copied over the voices from my original memory card over. All working - thanks so much!

Well done! That 1130-12304 is the correct/current UK map for your NAV2 device (although within a couple of weeks we're expecting the new 1135 maps to come out so watch this space)
This is where I get boring and say, "Now is the time to do a FULL Windows backup of your device/SD card etc!"
