Hello
you need to update the gps module
maybe you have the problem that the time starts from 00:00?
is the satellite reception poor?
however, from how you described your problem it should be easy to solve ... obvious that if you buy a new tomtom you have a whole other much better navigator
but if you want to fix your navigator you have to update the gps module
if you are interested I'll tell you how to do it and you should use a maximum 2gb sd card, no bigger than 2gb!

spoon1 thanks for response, I will have to buy a smaller memory card, i would be glad to hear how to fix, don't think I will buy new device since tom-tom made mine obsolete. my current memory card is 8gb truck map is 2.9gb and worked fine before.
do i need 2gb just to update gps module can i then use 8gb once updated, thanksLast edited by wired1; 18th November 2021 at 02:09 AM.

OK Download gps module update by here:
it is very important that when you do this update you must have your tomtom with a charged battery .. but much better if you do this update with the tomtom connected to the charger, always on charge.
the update takes a few seconds, but it is important that the tomtom does not lose power or you break it!
then download from the link, then take a sd of maximum 2gb and format it in FAT32 with windows and then copy this content:
then turn on the tomtom under load and then insert the sd and wait for it to update you, after the tomtom has shut down remove the sd and turn it back on and you're done.
try the tomtom again in the next few days and you will see that it is healed!
anyway then let me know, bye
SD ROOT Must be like this:
..... also add or rewrite those files intoBINfolder inside your tomtom
there is also a guide here to update gps module and Charlie62 and other founded this solution ..so many thanks to them !

Try downloading this package,
It is a package that downloaded from a subject of the companion jungblume2005 of the German forum digital-eliteboard
You will see a content similar to this, open the folder that I indicate:
Now you see this content:
Make a copy of the contents of the internal memory of your device.
Delete the content from your device.
Place the content of the indicated folder inside your device, it should be in the root of your device as in the image.
Make sure your device has a battery.
Puncture your reset hole on the device.
Disconnect your device from the usb.
Restart your device.
You should see something similar to the video provided in the package.

i gave you Charlie62's flash GSW 3.6.0....
I think if your tomtom now is good , then take it easy to navigation, no modify it any more , this is only my opinion...Last edited by spoon1; 20th November 2021 at 03:48 AM.
