Tomtom keeps shutting down and restarting

How about reducing the number of POI's showing as too many can cause problems, and/or only having relevant speedcams loaded rather than all available even if they're not req'd (this refers to a Euro map when only driving in the UK etc)

Remember you:
Install the original navcore with TThome.
Install a new map without anything else, do not put pdi, radars, or mapsettings.
Don't put sounds folder in navcore.

Start the device with the basics, navcore and map, to rule out problems with corrupted files.

If that doesn't work, format your device and redo the path outlined above.

Pe1agp's suggestion is good, if the aforementioned has not worked, it is most likely that the device is damaged by bad usb disconnections. Low-level formatting rarely works, but sometimes it has. In Go 910 it is more likely because these devices have a hard disk.

I have had several TomToms refuse to boot, but usually they display something, even static before dying again. Hold the on button down for 30secs to get the black and white diag screen.
Secondly they battery may be kaput. Open it up, see if it is an inflated pillow shape. Often noticed by a bruise mark on the lcd screen when you push a button. I have discovered very old 3 pin nokia batteries work fine - if you use double sided tape so they do not move around. I snipped off the old 3 pin and with a soldering iron soldered them back correctly, noting polarity with the middle to sensor pin. Pity they do not gold plate modern batteries anymore.

There is room to hotglue another charge port in or homebrew a 2mm bolt and washer out the back and attach it to a Cn made $2 flexible phone holder. I have also used a stainless steel clothespeg. Maybe is is luck, but the local car window breaker coin change thieves notice an ancient TT XL, then tend to skip to the next car deciding you are impoverished.
My last TT or anyotherbrand mod is to remove throw out the pcb guts, and install a $5 movement spy cam inside, preferably from a goodwill bin sale. Cops do nothing, but a blowup faceshot poster on local power poles is fair enough for breaking a ignition lock, not knowing car immobilizer was going to go nowhere.
