1. Back up all files on your device.
2. Delete any outdated map folder.
3. For Africa.... Download v1046.10092 map from a link in the maps collection thread. Other versions are not compatiable for your device. Extract the Map to your computer after downloading. Then Copy the map folder from the computer to your device or SD card.
4. Download TheMavericks latest manually and put meta.txt in both the root of your device and the root of the SD card.
5.Download and put the exe file in the root of your device\SD Card. Run Fast activate.exe from the SD card or root of the device and choose the Activate Maps option.
When its finished exit fast activate, diconnect GPS form Computer and try it. It should work now.
NOTES I use Fast activate from the root of the device because it manually checks for a meta.txt file there first. So if you manually put the meta.txt there yourself, you know its the latest one being used. Still the best version of fast activate was the older ones with the simple 3 buttons only and not the "Menu" that automates everything such as the meta.txt download.
Other activators Like TT Activator are good to use as well but they can be using an out dated meta.txt file as they only look for the meta.txt file included in the distribution. You can still use these but be sure to swap the latest meta.txt file from TheMaverick into them manually to ensure best results.Last edited by nord001; 28th April 2020 at 11:43 AM.

Thats not correct, you can also use (with less features) Africa_1046_10093 or South_Africa_Swaziland_and_Lesotho_1046_10093 on NC 8.562.
The easiest way to downloading and activating maps is always via the tool TTActivator.

@gerritgorden: You don't need any link. Use the Tool TTActivator v1.9 to download the newest map (recommended Africa_1046_10092). If you only want South_Africa_Swaziland_and_Lesotho, take South_Africa_Swaziland_and_Lesotho_1046_10093.
P.S:
1. No code known for these old high-level-u map South_Africa_Swaziland_and_Lesotho_937_5913. Also not for low-level Africa_937_5916.
2. You can't use high-level-u maps with a NC 8.562, only Carminat maps (high-level-c-automotive) and belowLast edited by Alfred_ML; 28th April 2020 at 05:54 PM.

@Alfred In simplicity terms you are wrong aboyr TT Activator. It is not simpler than the Old version of FastActivate with the 3 buttons. It didn't get simpler than that.
It is simpler TO TEACH to manually download and copy the latest meta.txt and maps use fast activate. Also if you provide instructions on how to do things simply MANUALLY, people will understand the process and learn how to do it properly in the first place....
There have been some posts here before that TTActivator has not worked, BECAUSE THE meta.txt THAT IT AUTOMATICALLY DOWNLOADED WAS NOT UP TO DATE WITH THE LATEST MAPS.
Also with TTActivator is is TOO EASY for a non technical/learning person the download the WRONG VERSION map which will result in more confusion and wasted time when they post that it didnt work on a forum. Which happens A LOT since TTActivator was released.....
So it is SIMPLER tell them the one map version they need to get them to manually download it from the Map collections thread and Manually copy it to the device...
I only recommend using THE BEST map for the device for simplicity of instruction. That is the map version they should try first....Last edited by nord001; 30th April 2020 at 11:10 AM.

That's why I named the map(s) to be downloaded. TTActivator even shows the map name before downloading. So you can compare before downloading, whether the correct map is selected. If there are problems finding the right map, the map chart and its explanations will help. And yes, every tool need a current meta.txt, also FastActivate. And last but not least: you should also read something about it, before you update a TT with NC or maps.
And I stick to it: only with the TTActivator you have 100% security to download a genuine map (not corrupted, manipulated with pois or with saving/compression errors). It would not be the first faulty map that was offered for download.Last edited by Alfred_ML; 30th April 2020 at 01:16 PM. Reason: term
