Don't know if this will help but when I was using a Navcore that didn't support RDS-TMC adding the file "mctx.dat" and folder "gns" to the root of the device got it working. The traffic bar disappears after removing them.

Don't know which navcore you are using .. but in navcore SE 9.051 all you need to do is to delete the two files traffic.dat and tmccodes.dat from within the map folder (if more than one map folder do it in all of them) and the traffic bar is no more ..

Thnk you Entwood. It works.
Any other effects from removing these two files?
Do I lose traffic statistics, and statistical route optimization without these two files?

Sorry, no idea ! I don't use either of those and just wanted rid of the very annoying bar !!
If you want to "play" and see if the removal of those two files does lose statistical data .. don't delete them .. just rename them to ****. dax .. if you do lose the data, just name them back to .dat ..
