@pe1agp: Removing mapsettings.cfg didn't fix it unfortunately.
Decided to give it another go after a couple of days. Last thing I tried was to get 9.500 working on my XL...didn't work. It would freeze and reboot during initial setup where you have to choose between connect to Bluetooth device or Cancel.
Last night I removed everything from the internal storage except v1015 map & voices folders & the *.bmp files and copied my backup files onto the XL (again, I did the same thing a few days ago). Ran FastActivate and after all that it started up normally and gave the message that it couldn't use the 1015 map. That was no surprise, because the navcore in my backup was 8.xxx so I wasn't expecting it to work, but at least it didn't freeze and/or reboot anymore.
Then I decided to give it another go with Downunders navcore installer. Worked great, enjoyed the music and now I have a working 9.500 navcore on there.
Not going to mess with different navcores on this device anymore, happy I got it working again.

Congratulation, at last you succeeded
Are you going to use it on your bike ?
There is a small chance that you previously tried to use a 64mb Navcore, which obviously can not work on a 32mb system
Nevermind, when you're satisfied you'll have an excellent navigator.

Thanks
First I have to figure out how and where to install a mount on my bike.
I ride my bike to work every day, so I don't go on many fun rides on my days off. But I do want the option to put it on my bike for when I might need it.
9.500 wasn't really necessary, I've used a TT One v8 with NC 9.1xx on my bike recently, but stuck to the tank with a suction cup mount is far from ideal. It looks like you're staring at your crotch when trying to look at the screen.
Windscreen is too curved, suction cup will not stay on.
No room on the handlebars unfortunately. Below the ignition is too low IMO, takes your eyes off the road too much.
Somewhere above the speedo, right underneath the windscreen would be perfect.
Exactly

If I look at that odometer so you have to work very close to home and indeed there are no fun rides in between.
With me, the Rider v2 is installed right in front of me in the cockpit of my BMW R 1100 RT and that is how it should also
be possible for that CBR of yours. Only there will not be a standard solution in the form of a custom-made standard and
you will have to assemble something yourself, and if possible a hole will have to be drilled.

You can't get this screen with your devices, it's the screen of these devices with restricted menue (like XL IQ Routes ²). These devices only running well with her original TT-NC, otherwise you have no sound! The Rider-NC-screen is similar, I recommend for 32MB devices only the 9,205.
