reformat, copy your ttgo.bif across to it and add a working map, run fastactivate then (with device switched off) insert card & reboot device
The x20's should run both internal & SD card together & you should be able to go to preferences/manage maps/switch maps to use one on the SD card

From format to sdcard in fat32
Download the official
Uncompress the cab
Paste the content to the sdcard.
Insert the sdcard into the device.
Test if you start the device with the navcore on the sdcard.
Do not select map if you have it in the internal memory, if you do it will delete your mapsettings.
Comment if I start the gps, if it starts up right, turn off and put a map on the sdcard.
Patch the navcore and activate the map with fastactivate
Remember that you can edit the ".pna" file to be able to identify your map.

Try the next Bootloader 5.5128, mine GO 910 from which I've replaced the HDD with an SD slot work with that version
If it still won't work, no worries you're able to go always back to the version you want despite some wrote downgrade is impossible.

Suggested BL by TT for a x20/30 are 5.5120 and 5.5279. Both working without any problems on my GO920. I think, it's not the BL, rather an incorrect formatting.
Try formatting with a for memory card suggested formatting-tool like SDFormatterv4, not with Windows!
