Tomtom 930 into a tomtom rider [help updating maps]
Hi Guys
I've dusted off my old TomTom 930 and I am planning to use it on my motorbike. First off, what is the latest map I can use and if there a howto update it? Also is it possible to mod/morph it into a TomTom Rider? (Big buttons for gloved fingers)
Thanks

I think it must be possible when you use Navcore 9.500
Since the 930 have an SD slot, any map with a valid meta must fit your system
Where do you want to drive most of the time, please.

Just get the Navcore, make a full copy from your system now
Remove everything from your device except the ttgo.bif file
Than start to put everything need, Navcore, map, fastactivate and on
Hang on I'll send you a PM shortly

Done.
Probably you need to upate your Bootloader too to for instance 5.5128, depending on which is already in your system
With Bootloaders above 5.5120 your able to use SDHC cards Class 10 up till 32GB
Mine Rider v2 is equipt with the same parts at present.

Here is a realy basic manual
7 simple steps to update your device with the latest map
To update your device with the latest map, follow these simple steps:
1) VERY IMPORTANT: Connect your device to your computer via USB.
Using Windows Explorer, open your TomTom drive and backup the complete contents of your TomTom.
2) Check your navcore version.
You can do this either on the device menu under Version Info, or you can check the navcore version in TomTom Home
when the device is connected to your computer, or by opening the ttgo.bif file with notepad.
3) Check which map is compatible with your navcore using the latest compatibility chart.
4) Delete the old map folder.
5) Extract the map using WinRaR or similar.
Copy across the new map folder into the root of the device.
Make sure when you open the map folder it only contains the map files, not another folder within a folder.
6) Download the latest version of FastActivate
Extract the file and copy across FastActivate.exe to the TomTom drive (the root of the device).
7) Run FastActivate.exe from the TomTom drive, clicking on the first 3 options in order, waiting for each to complete:
Update meta, patch maps, patch navcore.

I've taken a full backup of the files, I've taken a look at my ttgo.bif file and it reports my bootloader is 55250 Is this my navcore version?

Yes, don't change it, please.
As you've already 4GB internal, only when you add Europe you'll need more room
P.S.
Now I see yo've asked me if it's your Navcore, no it's the Bootloader version, but still don't update it, please.

So OK
I've taken a full backup of the files. Can I start to mess to the unit, I.e. I'm going to delete all the files from my device with the exception of the ttgo.bif and copy the tomtom rider files. Am I right to assume as long as I don't edit / overwrite my bootloader I won't kill it.
