Swapping device displays - from XL 335 [IQ Routes 2] to GO 950?
Hey guys,
So the recalibration of my Go 950 that I carried out with the help of our very helpful and lovely 'rusigor' has not been a complete success. The GPS likes the cal.txt file sometimes but ignores it on other occasions and I really do not want to buy a new LCD for my GO 950.
I do, though, have an XL 335 with me which also has a 4.3-inch screen. I looked at the engineering screens of the devices and the LCDs are definitely not the same make. The 'donor' TFT type is: AUO A043FW03V1 ALT 19. The TFT on the 'receiver' device is: Samsung LTE430WQ 6. But there was no voltage or other technical specification that was available. Do you think it is worth my time to try to swap the screens? Are they likely to have the same type of flat cable connectors? I do not want to fry the board or the screen in the process but this has become an itch I must scratch :-)
Thoughts, suggestions?

To be honest, I doubt it highly it will fit
Even when they are from the same device type, they have also a number on the back of the screen

yep, the best way to find out - to read part number on cable of touch screen - and search for more info in i-net.
BTW - I gave you links on aliexpress - the touchscreen costs only $2-4$ -of course, it needs soldering with display module, but worth efforts.
And if you want to try swapping - first take a look on display modules of both devices (through i-net) - pretty sure touchscreen's (even if "glasses" completely equal) cables will be soldered differently for these devices - also you know, that displays themselves are made by different companies...
PS I wanted to find cheap "glass" for old GO700 (3.5") - but can't find cheaper than $10.... And device itself won't cost more... Disaster...

Thanks guys for all the inputs. In such a scenario, I reckon a swap would be a bad idea and a waste of time :-(
Um, that is funny because 'Samsung LTE430WQ 6' is is what the engineering screen on my GO 950 said. So I am not sure why this type of TFT would not fit.
However my bigger concern is the combined 'soldering ability' of my $20 soldering iron and me. Prom the pictures it looks like the digitiser will have a flat cable with 5 conatct points that will need to be soldered on to the TFT. How hard do you think would that be?You're beautiful. Assuming - you have enough skills in soldering. So - just disassemble your go950 and take a look on soldered cable - then you'll make decision to proceed with it or not.... I don't think it will be so impossible for such masterful person as you are ;-)

You are very, very kind, rusigor. Your encouragement has intensified my itch all over again to fix this marvellous device. I will open the GO 950 up and take a close look and report back to you :-) Thanks again :-)
