No more maps being sold for SOME of the older NAV2 (& NAV3) devices!
Just seen (& checked for myself) from the TTusers forum:-
Exactly WHAT does "This device has failed End Of Life Check!!" (and "Add to cart" is blocked) mean in the TT mapshop etc? Seems you cannot buy maps for these good & reliable devices any more! True or not?
1. Have TT really stopped selling new maps etc for NAV2 devices WITHOUT AN ANNOUNCEMENT ANYWHERE?
2. Surely they wouldn't be THAT inefficient or indifferent to their customers to simply just STOP all support, or would they?
3. Will they continue to honour those with paid for subscriptions?
I think we should be told officially, don't you?biggerdave Reviewed by biggerdave on . No more maps being sold for SOME of the older NAV2 (& NAV3) devices! Thanks. I saw that but I'm guessing they will/may soon block that too but only TT themselves know what goes on in their crazy minds. Buying through TTHome seems to only allow the single map purchase too.

It seems that TT has received many shopping claims without finishing installing the map due to space problems.
To avoid problems they have limited the purchase of gps that do not have card slot. This is unofficial.

After doing some more digging I think the current restrictions re buying (even small) maps through the TT mapshop rather than through TTHome only currently applies to NAV2 devices which have less than 2Gb internal memory irrespective of whether they have an SD card slot or not (for more or bigger maps I thought?)

Just one more thing to confuse us more:- Typical bloody TomTom! They make some changes in some map shops (probably for some maps) but not others!
Maybe, just maybe, they will clarify things when they wake up tomorrow? Who knows with those idiots!

Seems it was "just another TT error" and is now back to normal again (for now)

I'm sure they are onto something ... This might have been a mistake as "older" devices were usually able to handle new maps but this may be a time for the first "lifetime" announced devices to die and someone just ticked wrong box. We'll find out soon for sure ...

No, from what I've been lead to believe, "some" of the older devices are being dumped from being able to subscribe to new maps etc although it's all a bit vague still but an announcement is "imminent" whatever that means to TT.
