TomTom screen is not properly working..
Hi there,
I have tom tom go 930 and the touch screen sometimes is not working correctly.
Like if I want to write post code like using all left side buttons, where is (A,1 etc.) it's almost impossible to do that as it respond for other buttons instead of A...
Also sometimes when I drive it opens TomTom menu without touching touchscreen, does it mean that I need to replace touch screen ?edzha90 Reviewed by edzha90 on . It may just need cleaning, see or possibly needs recalibrating, see
PS Initially I'd try running a thin card (like a business card) under the edge of the screen all the way round in case it's just a bit of dust caught there.

when I followed your pdf which you supplied it says 'Press the „Power On“ button,
The moment the “TomTom hands” - logo appears on the screen, press the „Power On“ button and
hold it..'
I do like this - my device is off, I press on then when I see tomtom logo I take off my finger then I press again on button and hold for couple sec, but then it just turns on like normally it does opens me maps... but not the 'diagnostics screen“' .. what I am doing wrong ?
ALL DONE, I had to do reset then I heard the drum beat and now I got that diagnostics screen.
Guys... what calibration number should I use? Is it possible just to move all keyboard or screen to right side as the left side (like 1mm) won't work properly ?
Current numbers are: 83 932 151 844 @3300mV

I agree with Sparky101
Install from scratch again , if possible untouched version
Make sure it is meant for your device
Clear flash when you do
You can also download from Home , this way you sure have correct version
If after that you still got problem , i would suspect screen / digitizer first before calibration
Clean underneath the edge ; stuck dirt gives problems as you described
See if edge is not bend ; that will put pressure on the screen , resulting in same problems

basflt - thanks for the tips, I will try them.
Right now I am using '9.702.go_work-CAB-navcore-GO-WORK" and 'Europe TRUCK 930.5618'
Shall I take out the screen and then clean ?

I would not dare it , unless i was prepared to buy another device .
Better clean while its all in one piece !!
Use some thin cardboard underneath the edge to loosen dirt and an artist brush to remove it.
Use ClearFlash and reset !!!!
If you feel like a dentist and you still want open it , be very careful with the cable and wires , they damage easily , better not remove the screen , just clean the edges .
And dont over-tighten when re-assembling .

You can recalibrate the screen using a cal.txt file if the offset is small enough (1 or 2 mm), but in your case as "Also sometimes when I drive it opens TomTom menu without touching touchscreen", you need to replace the digitizer.
I did that many times on this 7xx/9xx TomTom Series and it always fixed the problem for a very raisonable cost.
If you replace only the digitizer, you may need some good solder skills as the digitizer ribbon is attached to the display circuit with 4 solder points on LTE430WQ-F0B.
Be aware that these devices are originaly shipped with two different LCD Screen references : LTE430WQ-F0B (the most common) and LQ043T3DX0E
These LCD Screens are not interchangeables on the device (the image is shifted if you install the wrong one)
The digitizers are also differents (the ribbon cable is not the same), so be sure to order the right one.
On LQ043T3DX0E the digitizer is attached to the display circuit by a connector, so it is easier to replace (no solder).
You can also replace the whole TFT Screen, but be carrefull to buy the right one.
To know what screen is on your 930 :
You can reset it and press the power button until the diagnostic screen is displayed; then you will see TFT type: showing one of the references above (Ex: Samsung LTE430WQ)
Alternatively, you can open your GO and read the reference on the screen assembly.
