We have pretty good FAQ section here please read this through to get basic knowledge before you start 😉
Then do a Windows backup of your device!!!
As for newbie I would suggest begin with new map only - pick up any with meta available bearing in mind navcore compatibility and map size vs your device available storage.
Then d/l map - use Jdownloader (it is in faq as well) and activating tool - fastactivate is like all-in-one combo and you should be ready ☺
Any questions just ask here.

Don't bother downloading any of those maps as none of them are compatible with the navcore 7.903 on your device.
jarkita was right in pointing you towards the map compatibility chart so you can work out which map will work for you.
The 'right' map will depend on a combination of your TT's hardware specs, navcore and required features.
I would recommend that you plug your TT into your PC and run TomTom Home to see if there are any further updates to your NC before you think about downloading any maps, otherwise you'll be wasting your time and bandwidth.
