@kerberos, yes, that's correct, the navcore has to patched to accept the cracked maps. Just wait a few more days and you'll have complete instructions in the one place, instead of having to read all 52 pages of this thread to work out how to do it! :-)

Alfred,
Thanks for the confirmation.
It occurred to me after posting the above that the Compatible Chart page is really not that useful for NB1 owners, as the Thread Finder page uses the same colour codes. So all we need to do is check the Thread Finder page for the current version, looking (in our country/region section) for a green-coded map with meta data. If none, go to a Thread Finder page for an earlier version.

No! That can work, but only if Thread-Finder-page is up-to-date! You only need 2 things: The identification of the High-Level maps of the current release in the Map-Chart and a complete meta.txt. If you can't find in the meta.txt a NB1-suitable map with code, look in the release before...and so on.

I never had make this, but overwriting with the same original-TomTom-NC-version should work (e.g. patched 10.855 -> 10.855 TT-Home). Only downgrade is a problem (10.855 -> 10.854). But there can't do anything wrong...

Slightly Off-topic Daniel but, before you publish you new How-to, can I suggest you send a draft to Alfred via a pm so he can check you've got it right first if that's OK with you two? That way we "should" get a clean/complete/correct How-to which could save another 500+ posts here?

The Compatible Chart is only a listing of the several map-versions (High/Low-Level, Carminat, NB1, Truck) in relation to the required NC, no reference of an existing code! Only a complete meta.txt can show you the maps with code. Or you look here: . If you are to lazy/busy to read all the pages, you can also look here :
