Hmmm, are there additional files for traffic that are not included in the Australia build? Mine does not ever display the traffic bar over the map...not even greyed out. Any ideas how to enable appreciated!!
Also, couple of basic maintainance questions. Now that I'm running patched Navcore/maps - what's the best way to do minor updates of quickgpsfix and community mapshare updates. Can I run TomTom Home on the patched SD card for these updates? I notice fast activate has a "patch TomTom Home". What does this do? I also notice there is an option to update quickgpsfix from fast activate. Is this a better option than running TTHome?
Thanks again.

Yes, I understand there is 'HD live traffic' that requires an Internet connection and a subscription with TomTom. Updates every 2mins. This is NOT supported by Mazda NB1.
Then there is RDS/TMC, which does not require subscription and is accessed via a radio frequency. It apparently doesn't update as frequently as live traffic (only every 15mins) and only covers major roads. This feature IS available on the NB1 BUT only in some countries.
It seems the hardware is installed on AU cars. Under services menu, the traffic menu is not greyed out, and I can ask it to manually search for a frequency. I think the problem is infact SUNA (who supply the traffic service in Australia) only currently supports Navman and Garmin products. I've emailed SUNA to try and find out more info.

Early tests of the patched maps not good. Experienced crazy erratic routing as reported earlier in the thread. On the first trip, it took me off the logical route, then after I while I ignored it to get back to the main road... Took a long time to recalculate route. On second trip, same thing.. Started out fine, then suddenly tried to divert me off the main road. I ended up pulling over and putting the original card back in, which restored logical routing. I had disabled unpaved roads as suggested, but that didn't stop this strange routing behaviour.

It must be map error ... Or someone put some stupid map update via mapshare .... Patching map or navcore has no impact on routing.

Strange. I've just trialed putting the same destination into my original Mazda 945 maps, and my patched 955. The original 945 comes up with a logical route, the 955 comes up with a crazy route, often diverting off main arterial roads.
I've noted a few differences between the genuine Mazda maps and the ones on offer for download. One discrepancy is file cphoneme.dat is called cphonmlh.dat on the Mazda. Also Mazda has a number of additional files:
arp_0_300_10_10_f.dat
arp_1_300_10_10_f.dat
arp_2_300_10_10_f.dat
asrgrammerinfo.xml
/EN
MapServerPatch.dat
PatchFilter.dat
ServerLineIndex.dat
ServerNameIndex.dat
Tdspdlim.ttd
Also, downloaded map has cspeech_AUS.dat which in not on Mazda build.
Unsure if any of these files are related to the unusual routing anomaly. I will try and download another version of 955 maps and repatch incase of some corruption...

Maybe try downloading from other source.
Is it only one road incorrectly routed?
You can check if road is not closed or there are some traffic restrictions put ie no left/right turn or sth but it maybe time consuming ...
Have you seen any reports of incorrect routing elsewhere on forums?

Yes, Greatnloopy mention 'wonky routing' earlier in this thread. Not one single road. Have had strange routing on 3 different planned trips in different areas so far. Trying a different source for maps... Also trying removing mapshare files.
