TomTom xl
Hi all, quite new to this and was hoping to get some advice. I have a tomtom xl and have put a new map on... 925.5439 uk & ireland.
I followed the instruction, to remove all files, connect to tomtom home and install all the updated files, confirmed the right map for navcore. all went fine, installed the map, which I've used on my other tomtom one without any probs. Used fastactivate to activate the map and all went fine.
The problem I have is once you turn the tomtom xl off and turn it back on, the screen lights up and thats it. If i hold the power button for 30 seconds it restarts perfectly and works fine. I'm assuming it's a problem with the bootloader... any help would be great?

did you patch the navcore before activating the map ?
did you ran ClearFlash ?
it cant be bootloader , especially since you got it from Home
what version you have ?
for v9 maps better use v9 navcore

Hi Basflt, yes I unzipped the map, transferred it to device and copied voices across to devive, then ran the activation. everything works fine except the start up.
version says : version 2.9.7.3256 .. tomtom home says the correct map is 925.5439
Oh and yes I ran clearflash.

that is Home version , not navcore version
my idea would be;
use one of the navcores from our forum
since it wont start may just as well start again from scratch
and ;
when using patched navcore and map better not connect to Home again

Hi Basfit, removed all the files and tried using one of the navcores from here. Seems to have done the trick, booting on and off fine now.
Once again thanks for the advice.. much appreciated.
