Some TomTom Home's will not show lifetime map updates
I have the same TomTom Home version installed on 3 Windows XP machines. I have a lifetime map update on an XXL 550.
Only the original Windows XP machine that I put the activation code in TomTom Home shows me the new map update. MapShare and SafetyCams update fine on all.
When I put in the activation code in the other machines, it said was already used.
How do I enable all of my Windows XP machines to update lifetime maps? Do I lose the lifetime update when the old machine fails?

I'm surprised you're having this problem as surely, if you connect you device and login properly (with the same/working login/password) then I can't see how the TT server could differentiate between any PC and another

Dave, I know the answer to this, having connected to TTHome on different PCs across the world. It does not matter where you are. TT interrogates your connection, sees your unit, and no matter where you are, if an update is due, provides you with it. Just make sure, although, I have not found it to be and issue, make sure your legitimate maps have the TT provided dct code, not a hacked one. I tested today earlier and got my Eastern Europe map updated, but was in Romania (i'm not really) I was using a proxy server. Worked fine

Thanks for the replies. Logging off and on plus the original .dct did not fix it. But the Maverick's statement has encourage me to pursue this farther.
I did notice the machine that works correctly identifies my TomTom as an XXL and the one that fails thinks it is a TomTom One.

Did You try uninstal home with all leftover files and install again? Home may store some files and identification may go incorrect. Just a though ...

TomTom Home 2.7 did not have .\TomTom Home\Resources\Devices\GL.ddf for the XXL. I put a copy from TomTom Home 2.9 and everything works fine. Apparently, I had a copy on my old machine when I was installing and reinstall TomTom Home to get to version 2.7
Thanks for all the support
