TomTom Go 720 not detecting TMC Pro receiver
Hello,
I have got a Go 720 with Version 9.510. I have to plug in the TMC Pro receiver several times before it is detected.
Is this a knows bug? What can I do?
If I would switch to a Go with "Live" would it be safe to patch the system and use maps from here?
regards

I use a GO950 with a DSA patched navcore 9.465 with Live Service working.
It runs very smooth on a free map of Europe and Benelux.
So I don't think you gonna have problems running free maps on a GO Live.
But make sure that your new devices isn't a new generation device with a navcore 10 or higher.
You can't use free maps on such a device. Buying one at the TomTom store is your only option than.

As long as there is Live coverage it will work on patched navcore & maps.
PS The unit must be compatible as well. My 550 live for example is not compatible with live services in Poland even with legit PL map as long as I leave Poland everything works perfect

As long as the tmc pro would work, i am quite satisfied with my Go720.
I know, that navcore10 is not cracked, yet.
Is it safe to use live services? Coudn't TomTom detect patched devices and block them? Do I need to sign up with my personal data in order to get live services to work? Or can the live services subscription also be hacked?

no , LIVE can not be hacked
but why ?
if you need it , the new devices have it by default and come with lifetime map-update ( which requires LIVE )
if you can live without Traffic ( i assume thats the reason you want LIVE ) than you are better off with a older NAV2 device
BTW
i did not knew they have TMC in China , or TT Traffic

Tomtom TMC never worked properly
i think they dont bother because they want us to buy Traffic
me personally , i can live without it

Well, if it is detected properly, I was quite satisfied with TMCpro. It saved my *** several times.
