]This is so cool,I get roped back into updating a bunch of devices and at the first hurdle (home wants me to login) a simple read in here has the solution. Job well done guys :-)

Hi biggerdave I want to avoid the forced Home update but there is no application.ini file on my Windows Vista PC on the path you quoted. Have you any idea why not? Is it possible just to create one if so can you quote what is in the folder.

Thanks for reply I am running as admin and have ticked unhide but there is just a notepad file called application which says this in it:

Its there .. under version ..
change the 2.9.2.2837 to read
3.9.2.2837
then click save
you obviously have your system set NOT to show the last 3 letters of a file ...
so the .ini is not shown .. and I'll bet when you look at documents they don't have .doc on the end either

- in folder options , view tab => untick ; Hide extensions for known file-types
- click on windows start button
in the small box above it , at bottom of menu , type ( or copy/ paste ) application.ini and hit enter
