Talking about same thing - luckily I ordered this several months ago, and now have it. Used for app SD Insight - to show real manufacturer of SD memory...
Will be interesting - how it in real life, will hardware send info in time, or due to suspend/delay - cause malfunction...
Yea... many was written about this issue, were some utilities written, which "had to show..." but obviously - showed only CID/PID which can be seen in Device Manager

Hello,
New here, I just bought a Carminat Live equipped car (Navcore 9.884) and of course I've been unsuccessful to use downloaded maps. However I don't understand all this card CSD/CID protections. To start playing, I've not touched the original (from 2013) SD card of course, I've used another one.
I formatted the card, left it empty, then put it in the car, it created the loopdir dir and the ext3 filesystem image. I then copied the content of the original SD card on it, and used Tom Tom home which recognized it, to install free updates and quick gps fix. This card then works fine with the owned map, without having touched anything else, although it is physically different from the original. Is it Tom Tom Home who wrote into hidden parts of the sd card? I doubt so?

The very right step.
Just wrote what you mentioned - updated gps fix and IMHO mapshare, nothing more...
Hence, your original map is activated to Devise ID, not CID (Card ID). Else your map on new SD would be unusable... just open your ext3 image and look for *.dct in your [map] folder. Sure, you'll find it there. In case it were *.mct - map won't work (here we talking exactly about *.mct issue)

OK, thanks for explanation, now if I buy the Europe map (no other choice atm, only have France, and an old version), will it work on the new SD? It has to anyway, since the original one is only 2 GB. BUt trying to activate a downloaded one with .dct generation does not work.

If you'll buy it (through online TT shop) - it will work on any SD your device accepts - it'll be downloaded to your SD via TTHome.
And if you'll buy it as TT-SD-card - it could be cloned to modimo SD-microSD adapter (when it'll be possible to purchase)...

Hi everyone. Also new here. I've read countless of posts but I'm brand new to TomTom and TomTom cracking so I am unsure what to do.
I bought a 2011 Renault Clio that came with a Carminat Live "beaumont" at version 9.884. I was unaware that this version can't be downgraded and/or cracked (I tried installing ttsystem and PDNavigator from version 8.x then patching and activating maps using FastActivator after patching the ttsystem and PDNavigator using FastActivator but unfortunately once inserted in the car, it didn't work). I still have the contents of the original SD card and I loaded that onto the SD card and now I'm back to the start.
Since I can't figure out what to do, I'm wondering if someone can help me. Am I at too recent of a version and am I therefore in no luck to do anything with it or is there any software based solution I can use to get the new maps on there (without purchasing them of course, I assume that's what we're all trying to do here.).
