Hi, not sure if anyone can help but will post this anyway. I just installed the patched version on a new head unit (supposedly) running Android 10, but GO keeps crashing while navigating. I haven't tried to see if it crashes when in just "map mode", but will try that next time I'm driving. At first I installed the latest version of GO found here, but it would suddenly close during navigation (after just a couple minutes). I rolled back to a previous version I had saved (1.17.7 build 2129) which worked on my older 4.4 head unit (though it always said it stopped working on the first launch). I'm not sure if 1.17.7 will work, as it too seemed to close while having it playback a route in demo mode. Any suggestions on where I should start to look for what's making it stop working?
BTW, the older patched versions works fantastic on my other Android devices (a tablet and 10.4" Tesla style in my CTS), thanks for the awesome work!
UPDATE: I tried GO without setting a destination, just playing around with settings, etc and it still stops responding, then closes. Funny though, while in the Settings menu, I could still see the animation for road construction moving on the map in the background, but scrolling through the settings had stopped working. Then after just a few more seconds it closed and went back to the head unit home screen. Does anyone have any suggestions?Last edited by explor202; 1st June 2020 at 06:13 AM.

@explor202
Have you first install the original ones from googplay, as writen in first post, if not then read more carefully.
And yes I know that a new one have arrived: TomTom Go 1.18.1
But search also for the patced version TomTom Go 1.18.1
Edit:
This it about the new tomtom go 1.18.1 version
How we handle the connection error
1. Before uninstalling the free version from googleplay, the com.tomtom.gplay.navapp folders (device memory and SD card) must be saved / renamed (for example tom.tomtom.gplay.navapp).
2. Uninstall Free and install the patched version (do not start).
3. Cancel the renaming.
4. The obb main.1646582.com.tomtom.gplay.navapp.obb file should be in the device memory -> Android / obb / com.tomtom.gplay.navapp /.
5. Start TT, load the remaining data and look forward.Last edited by ScorpioPirate; 1st June 2020 at 06:48 PM.

Yes, I've installed the version from Play first, ran it, then uninstalled it. I am able to launch the patched version, download maps, sign in and view My Places, etc without any issues. But once I try to use the actual app is when it stops responding and closes. I also noticed that if I launch it, change a setting (like to dark mode), then close and relaunch it, that change isn't saved. Later today I'm going to do a reset on the head unit and try to install GO first, before any other apps and see what happens.

Well, a reset made no difference. I really don't understand why I can't get GO to work on the head unit. I've installed and used the patched versions on 5 different Android devices with great success, but this one has me stumped. It starts out working just fine, then 10-15 seconds later it stops responding. Sometimes the guidance voice still plays but the guidance arrow stops before it closes. This head unit has 2GB ROM and 32GB RAM, and it does show Android 10 with an 8 core processor, so I don't think it's a hardware issue. Tomorrow I'll try removing GO all over again and install a previous version apk I found (1.18.1 from 2019), then try the 2019 patched one afterwards.

I still have no clue what's going on. I extracted an apk from a working version (1.17) of GO on my Galaxy Tab E and installed it on my head unit. For some reason there are absolutely no menu items. When I click the Menu button, I basically see a blank screen with just two hyphens for page one and two. However, the maps seems to respond as it allows me to select an area on the map and start route guidance, and doesn't appear to hang and close. But without the menu, I can't get to Route Preview mode to really test it. At one point during installing attempts of other versions, I saw a brief error message display regarding overlay not enabled. Does anyone know what that means? It does seem that whenever I was in the menu, or had something overlaid on top of the map, that that is when GO would hang and close, and would make sense why the version without a menu seems to work.

I found out that not all Android HeadUnits are working fine with TomTom. I owned a simple one with 1GB ROM and 16GB RAM, but that one didn't work at all. Installing till the moment to install maps and then it quits every time I tried.
Now I have a more better HeadUnit with 4GB ROM and 64GB RAM, and it works fluently. No problems since installation.
Maybe it has to do with how the HeadUnit will act. Either as Phone or Tablet or CarRadio....
My old HeadUnit (Android 9) acted as CarRadio and the newer one (Android 10) as Tablet.
