@menta
Thanks for your upload which I've installed successfully, however, I've copied several poi's as explained in #20 of your post but they're not visible when I open the Tomtom App.

Be careful, in TomTom Android your personal PDIS does not appear by default in the main screen, only your places appear, and if you want, your contacts.
If the folder structure and formats are respected, it will appear in my places at the end of all your POIs, enter, select one, you see personal pdis, and it will take you.

I've used the same ov2 files that I have on my Tomtom GO920 and placed them in the folders exactly as you have explained in #20 of your post but they do not appear at the end of the My Places list. My Galaxy S9+ is not rooted if that makes a difference.
Okay, sorted it. The tomtom file structure has been duplicated on the SD card which I didn't realize and it must be the default as the personal POIs are visible since I transferred the files to the SD card.

After doing everything (word by word) which was written here and trying it over 10 times i still can't succeed installing it on my android device.
I've found that the first time i wrote (or maybe TT Go did while installing ??) the OBB folder it cannot be moved or deleted anymore and nothing can be written in it.
Probably that's why the install keeps hanging everytime and it gives me the message "Cant connect to the server" and keeps going in that loop endlessly.
I've tried various third party filemanagers and even one called SD Maid which claimed it could delete any file or folder..... without any succes.
Every attempt of installing any TomTom app ends in "not able to connect to the server" and the install fails even before getting to the part of downloadig maps....
I'm now downloading an old TT 1020 Benelux to see if that will work because i don't want to format my android device.
What to do next ? How can i install TT Go or NDS or any other TT that doesn't need the OBB folder or has to write in it which it can't anymore?
Or even better how to delete the OBB folder without formatting root memory?
All other navi apps work semi-perfect n this device (Sygic, IGO, Waze etc.) but this TT Go looks really great in my other car and brings me everywhere without taking odd routes like Sygic does.... e.g.: directing you off the highway through some village and sending you back on the same highway 1 km further without a clear reason or diverts you via a gas station when there's even no roads beside the highway and sends you back on the highway again.....etc. etc.
Ps. Thanks all for your great work on this site.... really apreciate itLast edited by AlHaKaZaM; 13th April 2020 at 07:30 PM. Reason: type errors

When a user comments on their incidents, it is always interesting to know, device, Android version, if they install internal memory or external memory expansion cards, etc., so if another colleague has been there and comments on the solution, it is going very well. Anyway, what you propose is generic.
It has happened to me recently with a Huawei P30 and it is solved by changing the installation method.
The operating systems release new versions, the first installation method stopped being useful with Android 7 as the 1% problem was generated and from there we obtained the obb, finally the obb is passed with the apk fixed and it works well as You may have read, but of course we have a census of more than 15,000 devices and incidents arise with some models and brands.
Regarding the NDS with obb, in principle it was created for 2DIN but on smarts and tablets it works well, except with devices with an incompatible chip, the essential difference is that the maps are downloaded by country, that is, they are not continental.
Well, first you must do what is explained in post 1 point 5,
There is a simple uninstall 1 that you carry out with your own smartphone and there is a deep uninstall 2 that deletes data and cache, that is, it cleans the previous information device, do it before uninstalling this, is essential to carry out a clean installation. Check that there are no folders left there or anything from previous installations.
When the device is clean you copy the apk 1.18.01 fixed on the device, wherever you want and from the play store you go to install the original TTA GO 1.18.1 you advance until the map download screen appears, at that point, you exit the application and uninstall (simple uninstall 1 with your device, not from third parties) then you run the fixed apk and install.
This should work unless there is a manifest incompatibility.

Thanks for the additional info and remarks on my reply/posting.
Here's some additional info from me:
I do have another (older) chinese 2-din android 9 in my other car where everything installed smoothly (even onto a USB stick).
0nly thing is that every timewhen you take out the USB stick and put it back after in (even after only 1 second, i've tried with just a Benelux map to find out) you will have lost all your maps !!!!! (WHY ???)
I had downloaded the full 9Gb of Europe via WiFi the first time and found it had disappeard (in the program) after putting the stick back in after copying a music folder onto it
I actually do have a Chinese 2-din android 8.1 where i want to install TT Go on, but from the first line of install manual it went wrong as TT Go refused to continue the (Googleplay) installation giving me the message (at the end of install, just before the map download) that the servers cannot be reached alltough i had an excellent internet connection....
I've ((2nd time) wiped cache and data first and then) uninstalled (Gplay version) app with the android's original (in settings) app-uninstall and even checked with a file manager if there was anything left behind.
Nothing was found except the OBB folder which was also empty although i'd placed the obb file in there.
Deleted the OBB folder(i thought so ...) and file manager even gave me the message that folder was deleted (but i didn't verify by actually looking that it had) and immediately tried to install G-Play version again.
Off course without result as it kept going in the loop (just before the map download part) that it couldn't reach the servers again......
Uninstalled again and tried to install again according to manual on this site.
It looked as it seamed to continue installing and i had to answer the questions (again) and the same happened again... no contact with the servers.
Removed all again and then found out that the OBB folder is really unable to delete.... searched on google for solutions to delete it anyway but no program (so far) is able to delete this folder.
So now i'm stuck with this folder which cannot be moved, deleted or store any file into.....
This probably means I cannot (now or ever ???) install any TT app as it will probably want to store files into this folder !! ???
The chinese 2-din will not aloow me to install anything from stick or SD card as it doesn't recognizes the stick or SD card until it's fully booted (and have lost all maps...)
I've also tried to install NDS but with same results.
I've downloaded TT Benelux (old version) with same results.... no connection after an almost full install. (tried to continue install 15 times (after resetting the radio everytime as the TT app hangs) and sometimes the "Install-Ring" looked like it wanted to become full 100% but NO....it never does.
Any other suggestions ???
Other programs do run normally (Sygic, Igo, Waze Google maps etc.) but i like the looks and excellent info TT gives me while driving.
And again thanks for your good work, really apreciate it very much
Best regards,
AlHaKaZaM
