It is possible to update.
Buy a 32GB USB key and format it FAT32. Download the program from REANULTA R-Link 2 TOLBOX upload it to your computer.
Insert the USB key into the car's USB port, the car must be working, wait a maximum of 2 minutes, remove the key and insert it into the port from the computer. TOLBOX will start on the computer and will offer you a reward of programs and maps if you have purchased a license for maps.Last edited by zzastava; 20th March 2024 at 05:22 PM.

Another option is to unlock R-LINK 2 and load illegal TOMTOM cards.

To be able to install any custom package, it's mandatory to patch the iGO partition of your R-LINK 2 in order to unlock it.
This operation is low risk and completely reversible if you follow the instructions below and don't use a poor quality USB stick.
From your R-LINK 2, retrieve your software release by going to Menu => Next page (page 2) => System Information => Software release
2.Download below the version corresponding to your software release :
2.2.19.30x : mm2014_upgrade_igo_221930x_patched.zip (32,3 Mo)
3.3.16.96x : mm2014_upgrade_igo_331696x_patched.zip (36,0 Mo)
3.3.16.98x : mm2014_upgrade_igo_331698x_patched.zip (36,0 Mo)
7.0.24.13x or 16x : mm2014_upgrade_igo_70241xx_patched.zip (45,3 Mo)
8.0.32.50x : mm2014_upgrade_igo_803250x_patched.zip (49,5 Mo)
9.0.33.43x : mm2014_upgrade_igo_903343x_patched.zip (57,9 Mo)
9.0.34.61x : mm2014_upgrade_igo_903461x_patched.zip (57,7 Mo)
9.0.35.50x : mm2014_upgrade_igo_903550x_patched.zip (57,8 Mo)
Extract the R-LINK folder from the downloaded archive, and place it at the root of your USB stick.
In your car (engine running), plug in the USB stick and after a few seconds, press Yes when the message asks you to install a software update.
After the update, the R-LINK 2 will restart and remain on a black screen for 1 to 2 minutes. Don't panic, this is completely normal and wait for the R-LINK 2 interface to reappear.
It's possible that the software update will be asked again, of course press No then disconnect USB stick and turn off the engine.
Congratulations, your R-LINK 2 is now unlocked and ready to install any custom map package.
Note: If you update your R-LINK 2 to a new version, you will return to the original iGO partition. So you will have to repeat the operation by selecting the corresponding version.
Make sure that the version is present before updating your R-LINK 2 or you will no longer be able to use your custom maps.

Back to the original iGO partition
If for any reason, you want to restore the original iGO partition. Download below the version corresponding to your software release and follow the instructions above.
2.2.19.30x : mm2014_upgrade_igo_221930x_original.zip (41,4 Mo)
3.3.16.96x : mm2014_upgrade_igo_331696x_original.zip (53,8 Mo)
3.3.16.98x : mm2014_upgrade_igo_331698x_original.zip (53,7 Mo)
7.0.24.13x or 16x : mm2014_upgrade_igo_70241xx_original.zip (62,3 Mo)
8.0.32.50x : mm2014_upgrade_igo_803250x_original.zip (57,8 Mo)
9.0.33.43x : mm2014_upgrade_igo_903343x_original.zip (57,9 Mo)
9.0.34.61x : mm2014_upgrade_igo_903461x_original.zip (57,7 Mo)
9.0.35.50x : mm2014_upgrade_igo_903550x_original.zip (57,8 Mo)
You will then have to reinstall an official Renault map (only if you have installed a custom one) by downloading it from the official Renault tool: R-LINK2 Toolbox.

yesterday I tried to update rlink2 from version 2.2.17 to 2.2.19 patched. I first installed the original version 2.2.19 and then the modified one. at the end of the installation the image of the successful installation also appeared, but when I went to the rlink 2 settings I read system version 2.2.17, is this normal? when i open sku i read always 2.2.17.
I had copied the contents of the 32GB stick onto my PC after updating to the original 2.2.19 version. trying to open it with sku I get an error message because the.wls file is 0kb.
the thing I don't understand is why at the end of the installation I got the message that the installation was successful.
instead with the 64 GB stick with which I tried to do the installations again after I had encountered this anomaly of the above version, I had saved the installation content of the patched version 2.2.19 and by opening this content with sku everything went well (in fact there is an image attached) but the rlin version has always remained the same. 2.2.17
At this point do I have to try to do the installations again from scratch? do I use 32 or 64 gb pen?
2)If everything went well, how do I update the maps?
3) where can I find the original and patched rlink 2.2.19 files. I don't want the ones I downloaded to be bad
4) i used a usbdrive from 32gb and 64gb formatted in fat32

Hello.
You upgraded R-link-2 2.2.17 to 2.2.19 with Toolbox R-link 2 original. When you're done with that, you upgrade with 2.2.19 patched version (you download it from the link). Then you can upload illegal cards that you make yourself from teleatlas IGO or here.
Link:
Patched version 2.2.19.30x : mm2014_upgrade_igo_221930x_patched.zip (32,3 Mo)
and video how to made maps.
HERE you have everything, including ready-made cards from TOMTOM

YES.
You insert this into the usb port in the car and load it, it will load for 30 minutes, the car must work.
This is the official version of the original cards that you downloaded from the net via TOOLBOX R-link 2.
The display in the car should show you the upgrade. Press yes and the process will take 30 minutes.
The R-link folder is important to you, it contains all the updates for your car from the official Renault site.
City Navigator Europe NT 2025.10...
I would get a 32GB SD card they are only a few...
