Long time GPS user from Portland, OR
Nice to find this site. I've been using GPS since 1987 and from 2000-2010 was an avid geocacher. I've used GPS for flying, hiking and driving. Never did get the chance to use it on the water. Anyway, I'm an old hippie, techie, reader and driver. Been using computers since 1965, even ran an insurance company on an IBM 1401 with 16K of core memory. Been navigating by map, dead reckoning, self written programs, LORAN and GPS. Get easier and more accurate every year. Will be fun exploring the site. Thanks.

As a group of developers, there is successfully extremely progressive here in an almost inimitable way.
If you read about that, maybe you could still be of use to them.
