I'm bored! MS Office upgrade?
I currently (and happily) run MS Office 2007 (really only for running word/excel/outlook) on my desktop PC with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit x64 but was thinking of maybe upgrading/updating (hopefully for free?) to a newer MS Office version but I have read that some of the newer versions are rubbish and that I could lose all my outlook stuff; saved emails, addresses, account login details, pop3 settings etc etc so really my questions are:-
a) is there really any advantage for me who only uses word/excel/outlook?
b) if yes to a) then which would you recommend?
c) can I somehow get a free version (key/crack etc) of whichever you recommend?

Is Office 2016 enough for you ?
Mind your private folder, please.
Afterwards you need to install KMSpico

Works fine, also with Office 2019. Be aware that Windows 10 update/defender deletes KMSpico after a while. I have a “reg” tool to avoid that, but I am on holiday in France now and can’t send you it, because I don’t have it with me.
In one or two weeks I am back home.

It's best to come back Peter, there isn't that much traffic in France and you'll be back within a few hours

Not from the place where I am. My good old TomTom tells me I have to ride 750 to 800 km to come home.
And I don’t want to go home because the wether is much nicer over here than in Holland.

Thanks guys, keep your suggestions coming.
I have always been a true believer in "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" but then my mind wanders to "I've nothing better to do than try & potentially brick my PC" which would really pi55 me off!
If there really is no obvious advantage to getting a newer version of MS Office then I may just stick with this old but reliable 2007 version which I know well & it works well for me. We all know that newer doesn't always mean better.
As I say, more suggestions/comments are welcome anyway (till I even get bored with this & think of something else to take my mind off Global Warming, Covid19, noisy neighbours, local flooding/heatwaves etc

@Dave,
Maybe you could try and think about cracking the future nav6!

Regarding office, the newer the worse.
Until office 2016 it works well, already office 2019 gives some account problems and the last 365 is a hole through which the bad guys can easily sneak in to steal your mail.
If you don't use much office and don't have file execution problems, the maxim you mentioned, for me, is also very valid, "If it works, don't fix it."
If you have compatibility problems I would put office 2016, if that solves the problem well, if it does not solve it put 2019.
If you want to put the latest office, I do not recommend it, create a unique email account to start office and that how much do not use it for mail. Nor do I recommend managing mail from office outlook.
