G'Day ,first we need to find out if your RV 890 which looks like an Android device will be able to use Unlocked map from any source.
Look in your Garmin folder for your garmindevice.xml ,open it with note pad and find your HWID
<PartNumber>006-B0000-00</PartNumber>
<SoftwareVersion>000</SoftwareVersion>
<Description>RV 890</Description>
also tell us about the RV 890,what region maps are you trying to put on it and what maps are installed from the factory.Last edited by Garmin_Nuvi; 21st January 2023 at 05:26 AM.

Many Thanks for your reply.
This Garmin 890 RV has this in the garmindevice.xml
<PartNumber>006-B3671-00</PartNumber>
<SoftwareVersion>440</SoftwareVersion>
<Description>RV 890</Description>
So this 890 Rv has City Navigator Aust. Nz maps but I purchased the 2022 City Navigator Europe NTU 010-13088-00 maps on a micros card.
I am trying to add City Navigator North America 23 to that card. Or can I load up a new card for US maps.?
I am very new to this but would like to be able to use the three maps on my one 890 Rv GPS. I have a Garmin 52 with 22 City Navigator for North America loaded but only want to take the 890 Rv if possible.
Many thanks.

The purchased 2022 City Navigator Europe NTU 010-13088-00 maps on the SD card from Garmin should work in your RV 890 as the maps are unlocked to the SD card.
Both Garmin nuvi 52 or Drive 52 will have the map files but they are unlocked to that device.
Some previous Android devices allowed unlock maps to work, before downloading the whole of N. America try this unlocked test map of HAWAII.
On a FAT 32 SD card create a folder called Garmin & another called Map, copy the gmapsupp.img to the Map folder.
Insert the SD card into RV 890 then check in My Maps on the device to see if it appears.

Many Thanks, I did what you suggested but the 890 Rv did not recognize the file that I downloaded. I have the City Navigator North America 2023 but it comes as a gmapprom.img file. I tried changing the file name to gmapsupp.img file but it was not recognized on the Garmin 890 RV GPS. Not sure where to go from here?
Please can I find out how to make an sd card with City Navigator North America 2023 on it? to run on my Australia Garmin 890 Rv GPS unit.Last edited by Garmin_Nuvi; 22nd January 2023 at 05:50 AM.

OK, looking at the info below, try moving the Map folder including the gmapsupp.img to the Garmin folder ,you can also rename gmapsupp.img to Test.img and try that too just in case your Europe maps are named gmapsupp.img which will cause a conflict.
<Name>SupplementalMaps</Name>
<File><Specification>
<Identifier>IMG</Identifier>
</Specification><Location>
<Path>Garmin/Map</Path>
<BaseName>gmapsupp</BaseName>
<FileExtension>img</FileExtension>
