My Nuvi 2589 LMT doesnt seem to have a traffic provider listed in the settings.

That OK, TA 10 is the same as TA 20 just an earlier version.
Your device has the Traffic reciever intergrated in the unit.
Make sure your device is upto date with Garmin Express as there are a couple of updates relating to Traffic & one TrafficProvider.xml
It does take a while for the device to pick up the Traffic details and obviously needs to be outsideLast edited by Garmin_Nuvi; 4th February 2021 at 10:24 AM.
Unless you are a "New" member, having used the Thanks button regularly is the quickest way to get help.

No
Your device has a Traffic receiver built in the TA 10 is a power cable & Traffic Antenna getting a signal can take upto 20 mins
Smart link is another way to get traffic using your Data link of your phone
Have you updated your device?

Ok so Ive now tried all your suggestions but to no avail.
I'm now getting a message saying
"The connected power cable is not compatible with traffic for this device. Traffic service is disabled.
Connect the correct power cable to receive traffic service"
Q. This device was purchased in the USA. Is it possible that the cable is dedicated to USA only?
Cheers

@barrg0
It will likely only have a North American traffic subscription, you should be able to check in the device's settings under traffic for the loaded subscription/s. To use traffic in AU you'll likely need a Suna subscription from Garmin, purchased and activated.
