TYPViewer 4.5.53
TYPViewer, version 4.5.50 does not correctly work with the typ file of that map because of some new features. TYP file will be slightly corrupted and some issues may appear with some recent units.
Please, use that beta version 4.5.53:

Hello Sherco, I still use this excellent tool but currently when I replace the .typ file of an .img file it no longer appears on the latest Montana600 I specify that I work with OSM maps compiled with mkgmap y splitter have you a walkthrough? Regards grandpa12.

Hi liondafrique, what do you mean by "it no longer appears on the latest Montana600" ?: now the map seems to be displayed on the Montana 600 without any TYP file? or with the previous typ file? or the map is not displayed at all?
And how did you proceed to change the typ file in the img file??

I extracted the .typ with imgtool, then modified with TYPViewer then replaced with imgtool, the map displays well but it looks like the Montana700 does not take into account the .typ while in my Montana600 everything is ok with the same map . I think they changed the firmware of the 700.

So the issue is with the Montana 700, not the Montana 600?
You wrote "it looks like the Montana700 does not take into account the .typ" : more precisely, how the map is displayed on the Montana 700? As if there was no typ file or as if the previous typ file was still in use, or the map is not displayed at all?

The problem comes from Montana 700 it displays the map as if there was no .typ file or else it does not recognize it!

Have you checked the FID/PID?
In the img file, the TYP subfile must have the same FID and PID as the tiles of the mapset and , if there are other TYP subfiles in the img file, they must have other FID/PID.(sorry if you already know ...)

Yes for the Fid and the Pid besides I am attaching you a screenshot, I do not understand. I would like to point out to you that I am working with an old version of Imgtool because the new W10 takes it for a virus.

Regarding W10, yes it presumes that there is a virus in the file but it is a false positive.
Anti virus uses now heuristic detection to find viruses that they don't know...and they find viruses where there is no virus....
For your issue with the typ file, I don't know...
Maybe , 2 questions:
- have you tried to copy your img file from your 700 and put it in the 600?
- what is the code page of the typ file?
