Mapinstall and NTU 2020.20
Greetings. Mapinstall question for Windows!
I have successfully gotten the Europe 2020 maps - and copied the City Navigator Europe 2020.20.gmap folder to the correct place and the maps works fine in Basecamp. I want to use Mapinstall and have this in a patched version 4.0.4. and it works.
I have seen updated to the mapinstall up to version 4.2.1 - and even 4.3.1.
But the windows is really small on the Mapinstall 4.0.4 - almost impossible to see what I am doing. The larger sized version of Mapinstall that I have (old) does not work - it seems to be not patched because I can not save to my harddrive.
What to do? How to get a large screen window of the Mapinstall so I can see what I am doing???

Thanks - but Mapsource is no longer supported -I want to get this to work in Basecamp.
Perhaps learn to mod Basecamp so that larger view can be achieved??? Or can someone give a working link to an updated patched mapinstall?

I do not have any problem with Basecamp 4.7.1 - it all works fine.
But the mapinstall 4.0.4 seems to be the last working version if you want to transfer the image to your harddrive which is 10 times faster than to the drive or USB.
The 4.2.0 mapinstall works - but you can not save to the harddrive.
I need a working 4.0.4 that has a larger screen resolution so I can see what I am doing... anyone????

If it's simply reading the text details on a high res screen (font size) a quick fix you could try could be in the shortcut (safer) or the MapInstall.exe properties.
This is what I do, works for my setup on W10 but yours may be different:
Compatibility Tab
High DPI Settings button
Select High DPI Scaling Override
Select System Enhanced
Otherwise play around with the various options here. The window size will be the same unless you change the 640x480 setting (not a good option on really high res screen) but otherwise should be a little easier to read & work with.

There are patched versions with larger working windows, 1280x1024 is a much better view!
Try this
Mapsource is my favourite program since BaseCamp is complicated and childish at the same time but Mapsource is not ideal for sending new (NTU?) maps since address serch functions may be erroneous.Last edited by Garmin_Nuvi; 31st December 2019 at 06:33 AM. Reason: Added name/version of download MapInstall_404_1280x1024

Unless you are a "New" member, having used the Thanks button regularly is the quickest way to get help.
