Use a tool like Device Manager or BaseCamp if you are unsure of what you have downloaded it shows the coverage graphically & gives a list of what is covered

Hello. I used the maps from your torrent. And I have one problem. Maybe it's up to the Nuvi 1490 T device. When I put a map individually on the SD card, let's say Eastern Europe. It recognizes it, but if I want to put both on the SD card, I have to change the name of one of the maps .And that's where the problem arises, it doesn't recognize them anymore. And before I didn't have those problems with 2024 maps, I change the name and everything is OK.

On your nüvi 1490T the two maps that make up all of Europe are East & West try putting them in a folder called Map & name them gmapsupp.img & gmapsup1.img,even though they can be any unique name. A common mistake is renaming them gmapsupp.img.img because the extension is not checked/ticked to show on your PC.
look in your garmindevice.xml it shows the path & naming of Supplemental Maps (on an SD card)
<Name>SupplementalMaps</Name>
<File>
<Specification>
<Identifier>IMG</Identifier>
</Specification>
<Location>
<Path>Map</Path>
<BaseName>gmapsupp</BaseName>
<FileExtension>img</FileExtension>
</Location>

Hi,
I got a Nuvi 50 LM (4 GB memory), so I could use G Express to ask for updates... As maps grow heavier within years, my Western EU couldn't fit, and I was offered to select a partial map, so went for France.
I do not remember if at that time, my 8 GB SD card -which has still a 3.10GB gmapprom.img file- was connected... Anyow, new full updated map requires 14 GB)
I had wished to source the France map file to copy and paste inside my smaller Nuvi 255 (2 GB memory).
Unable to locate it inside the Nuvi 50... nor similar file available to download in this section?
Should use around 550 MB but could be happy to get more consistent: up to 1.50 GB...
Was the France update melted to the WE EU gmapprom file?
Any help, please? ---------- although not a very important lack, as you guess! ---------------- cheers

Your nuvi 50 uses NTU maps for Europe ,and all NTU compatible (Newer)devices have the option of Regions or using an SD card
Both Northwest & Southwest NT maps include France 1.5GB.
If you only want France use to make a custom map setLast edited by Garmin_Nuvi; Today at 09:17 AM.
