So i can do it myself, does anyone have the information and files to unlock City Navigator xxxxx.gmap or in other words the product folder downloaded from garmin express. I use to have a program to look up/create a product code but not doing it for so long I have lost it and forgot how to do it. Or is there a better way now

downloaded the unlocked NA IMG file, as well as the 3 rars.
I moved the CNNANT_2025_10_mdr directory out of the Product1 subdir, but i still cant get it to open in map source. Am i being stupid? i dont know what file to open in mapsource, as there are no GDB or MPS files.
Ultimately, im trying to update my Honda Civic 2016 that still has the 2.83 version of the navigation software and can use unlocked maps, but im a total noob at using unlocked maps or anything other than the Garmin Express software to do my updates.
Can anyone point me at a link to a tutorial, or guide for that?
THANKS!

If you downloaded the 3 files in the post #2, you simply need to extract them to C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps.
Then you can view the map in Mapsource or BaseCamp
As it is already unlocked, you can use MapInstall to copy it to your device.

THANK YOU! I was extracting those files directly into the ProgramData/Garmin/Maps path, and not into a subdirectory! As soon as i put them all in their own directory, it showed right up.
When i export the map from MapSource, it only spits out the single IMG file, and none of the other extra files that are normally present for a 2016 Honda Civic head unit. Are the extra steps i need to take to prep the map to use an update USB on my head unit?
Sorry, total newbie on the subject of 3rd party or unlocked map updates for my car, and i realize my questions are very "my use case only" specific. Thank you again for the help
Tried exporting from MapSource to a usb drive with just the "garmin" directory on it, but the head unit in my Honda Civic says "the map update on the usb storage device is not compatible with this device"
it's a "Garmin Navigator", software version 283.
Is there a specific way i have to export the map from MapSource to work on the Honda head unit?Last edited by CantCashMe; 20th July 2024 at 12:03 AM.
