I did my test and I have two questions for you !
1: When I zoom in with MapSource, I can see all the restaurants, gas station and points of interest around where I live, but many don't exist anymore or has change name, not on this update ???
2: I live near a big city (Montreal, Canada) and many streets has been change to one way street or closed for pedestrian, not accessible by car anymore, not on this update ??
My Garmin told me to turn on a closed street or on the wrong way of a street ???
If I do the same test with Google Map on my cellphone, not a problem !!!

This map was compiled from data from local government available before September 2023 the distribution date. Google Maps updates constantly.

Thanks to this group, I used base camp to make the map. I still would like to get the large jcv file for the united states. Can i make that from base camp also, or is there another way to make it?
ThanksLast edited by sundance5809; 6th February 2024 at 11:04 PM.

JCV files are shared by member from their devices.
You will have to be more specific "Large" to get a good response

The file i am looking for is D9673030A. For my further education, where do I find the file names so I can ask for the correct ones?

I have a Kenwood 994S, and in the past I have updated it with the lower 48 download.

I followed the earlier instructions carefully, and was able to successfully install the map to a 4GB SD card (micro SD with apdapter) on my Nuvi 260W.
I tried the same with my DriveSmart 51, which has a 32Gb microSD card (SanDisk Extreme), and I get the message "Maps are corrupt". I have tried this a number of times, using MapInstall and BaseCamp.
I also tried copying the file from the 4Gb card to the 32Gb drive, with the same result.
Am I missing something?
I think I have it figured. Wrong microSD card by the looks of it. Garmin specifically mentions not to use anything labelled "Extreme". I will be out buying another, more standard card tomorrow.
Even with a Sandisk Ultra I get the same error.Last edited by Garmin_Nuvi; 14th February 2024 at 12:49 PM. Reason: combined posts
