Thank you so much for sharing.
I extracted "MENA 2023.10.gmap folder"
I copied "City_Navigator_Middle_East_NT_2023_10___MENA.gmap" in the C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Maps folder
and everything works perfectly.
But what to do with "MENA 2023.10 additional files" and "MENA 2023.10(gmapsupp)" ?

I have a Nuvi 1490.
It's a fairly old model.
I extracted "MENA 2023.10.gmap folder" to my PC.
Then I connect the GPS and transfer the map to the GPS with MapSource.
I don't know how to use "MENA 2023.10 additional files" and "MENA 2023.10(gmapsupp)"

If your only goal was to update your nuvi 1490, the quickest way would be download the JCV files & gmapsupp file as they are all you need.
Arrange on a FAT32 formatted SD card as below
Alternativly if there is space replace the files on the device change gmapsupp to gmappromUnless you are a "New" member, having used the Thanks button regularly is the quickest way to get help.

No it's not for an update.
Transferring the map via MapSource is not a good solution? In this case I don't need the JVC and gmapsupp files?

MapSource is software for PC for viewing maps, waypoints, routes and tracks, and transferring them to or from a Garmin GPS device. It produces a custom map set of your choice as a gmapsupp.img file.
The additional files and map are shared from members devices and a produced by Garmin Express as a gmapprom.img file name is changed to gmapsupp.img if on SD card.
It is just quicker to use the relevant files already shared including the additional files so your device functions with all the features it did originally. In your case the Junction view files.Unless you are a "New" member, having used the Thanks button regularly is the quickest way to get help.

Just for information, I used the 2022 Middle East maps on a Nuvi 3590. It was a nightmare, so be aware: as some exits have permanent barriers thus you cannot exit. So you get fined for incorrect lane use when you have to move over again
The GPS directs you onto Bus only lanes, (an instant fine).
Had issues with some roads / addresses selected, you get directed to a different place as they have expanded so much, that the place no longer exists.
Then worse is the fact it directs you a different route or longer route to get to the same place previously directed/went to.
Not sure if the GPS is acting up, or just the MAP.
thx
