Those are for installation on PC and use with Garmin Base Camp. You can then select what you need from that map and send it to the connected Garmin device, but indeed it takes a looong time.
I think that somewhere in those folders you will find the .img file.Last edited by SoNic67; 17th January 2022 at 07:57 AM.

The files you do not recognise in this thread are the files required for a PC to use with Mapsource/BaseCamp to create your own map sets, you can still create a North America gmapsupp.img for your head-unit.
Or use the
There are no .img files in the .gmap folder

New to the site
Hi;
Im new to the sit and having difficulty locating and downloading the latest Garmin Nav. file. I attempt to click on files in previous posts and it immediately takes me to suspicious download sites as well as trying to get me to install alternative files.
Can someone share a clean file or file link to download.
Basically Im looking for the latest Garmin North American map to download to a 64GB SD card. I would like to locate these two file types: gmapsupp.img (updated basemap) and gmap3d.img (3d basemap data)
Additionally I would like to locate an associated .jcv file (junction imagery file) and a .gpi file (point of interest files)
Any guidance or help on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Steve

@
Welcome to the forum Steve.
I moved your Post to the most recent City Navigator North America maps.
Best to Post your question or observations in the thread you are trying to download from, quoting the specific Post, then we can fix or explain what is going on.
Telling us what device you have would help as JCV's vary between devices and knowing would confirm your 64Gb SD card is too large or not. But guessing by your user name it might be a head unit in an Aston Martin DB9 ?

The links for "Last known version to display street names correctly on older devices" are not working. Can someone upload them again?
Thanks!
