TYP-file for FriPro v6 with much better readability.
Use JaWaVa GMTK to insert TYP-file in .img or if MapSource installation just replace existing file. Make a backup of original file just in case.
TYP-file can be adjusted to your taste by using .

I have problems to get JaWaVa GMTK to detect the ProV6. GMTK only shows a list of installed gmap maps. I think I need to get GMTK to detect the map in order to handle TYP-files.

The map needs to be installed in the computer. How did you install it? I did a split of the img with Gmaptool and then executed the install.bat as admin.
If it is not installed gmtk can not see it. But gmtk can see both registry maps (as described above) as well as gmap maps.

I have no immediate plans to install this map on my computer. I just wanted to use the img-file in my Oregon 600, after that it was TYP-modified.
I found out that JaVaWa TYPchanger was the tool I used when I replaced the TYP file (V5) to be used in my Oregon 600.
I have read through notes I created and saved when I worked with Topo V5 img.
Found that I used a TYP file that I got from "Mapperoni". This file was then slightly modified by me, before it got finally used.
I am used to it now, so would be fine if I could use the same TYP file as for Pro V5. Is that possible, or does it has to be a TYP file that is made for Topo V6?

Basically you can use the typ file for v5 but you need to change the FID to 8189 in the typ file. This can easily be done with Typviewer i.e.
It will not be perfect but the items that possibly should be altered are minor and you will probably not notice it.

I re-used the TYP file from Pro V5 and it looks very good. To me, V6 now looks the same as V5, so far. Of course, there are so many things and details that could be different, but I am very satisfied that it worked up to now. Time will tell.
I did not have to change the FID for the Javawa TYPchanger operation. Remember from the work with V5, that the TYP file could have a different name when dealing with img-map, but I had to correct the name when I transferred the file to gmap for MapSource.
Thank You for Your advice.

A good guess is that that the authors of GMTK did so that the program adapted the FID to the img that the typ file is injected to, smart in this case!

Could be. Just a correction, I didn't use GMTK for the job (but Javawa TYPchanger).

Thank you very much, I have now mounted it to a virtual sd card.
But I cannot open the map in Garmin Basecamp.
Has someone any suggestions how to open the .img in Basecamp.
This is my first map so I'm very new to all of this.
Thank you very much in advance!
Thom
